Ahhhh....

God is so good. I can't tell you how much more at peace I feel. And, as icing on the cake, I have also been able to accomplish many, though not all, of the things that were stressing me. Today was a really good day.

I got up around 9:30, showered and spent some quiet time with God. Then, I turned on some music to wake the kids. I folded some laundry, stuck a load in the dryer and another in the washer while the kids did their chores. Then, I took Josh up to my room and demonstrated how to dust (oh, my room was bad!). I even let him practice on a few spots in my room (*grin*) before sending him off to his room with the dusting supplies. I gave Brianna a second set of supplies and had her dust her room.

Then, we had breakfast and began our school day. No, it wasn't perfect. It didn't get started without me raising my voice and it didn't proceed without whining and complain...but, I still felt much more at peace about everything. It just what God showed me Sunday: when I get my focus where it belongs, everything else will fall into perspective.

On a funny side note, one of the Bible verses we reviewed today was Philippians 2:14-16, "Do everything without arguing or complaining, so that you may become blameless and pure, children without fault in a crooked and depraved generation..." Brianna left out the "out," making it: "Do everything with complaining..." Um, yeah. Some days are like that... even in Australia. ;-)

After lunch, the kids played outside for a bit and I dusted the basement while chatting on the phone with a dear friend (which always makes dusting more pleasant). Then, I called them back in to do science and history. We have a chapter on Crete before we actually get to Ancient Greece. I forgot about that. Hey, Crete's really close to Greece. That's okay, though. I didn't have all my books for Greece yet (the library was closed for President's Day! What's up with that???), so a "bridge" week works for me.

So, we read a bit about Crete and about birds for science. Then, we were done for the day. I folded the load of laundry from the dryer and put another load in to dry. My house is dusted and straightened up. The kitchen is clean, with a dishwasher full of clean dishes and just a few pans in the sink. The kids are enjoying some down time and I feel very justified in sitting here on my behind on the computer for a little while.

Ah, peace and balance. What a nice feeling.
