Saturday Savings: Slowly Restocking the Pantry

It's a slow process and the deals weren't as impressive this week, but I'm slowly restocking my pantry. It is my goal to shop the deals each week, as the budget allows. I'm not going to worry that I'm not getting huge piles of savings like I used to, as long as I am purchasing wisely and restocking what we need with the money we have available. Unfortunatley, I'm not even going to discuss my Wal-mart trip this week, wherein I went way over our budget.

Moving right along...here's my haul at Publix this week:

I spent $19.44 and saved, with coupons and BOGO, $25.69. The $20 spent sounds better when you look at what it could have cost, I suppose. There was no deal on the tea, I just forgot to buy it at Wal-mart, where it's less expensive. I didn't have coupons for the butter or the salad dressings, but they were BOGO and I needed them. The pasta was BOGO and I had to buy one to use the coupon I had for the sauce.

With coupons, I got...

Pillsbury Flavorings...$3.99 each, on sale BOGO with a $0.75/1 coupon. Total OOP: $1.25 each.

Ragu Pasta...$1.99 each, on sale BOGO with a $1/2 coupon (plus purchase of pasta). Total OOP: $0.50 each.

Hunt's Diced Tomatoes...$1.39 each, on sale BOGO with a $o.40/2 coupon, doubled to $0.80. Total OOP: $0.30 each.

  1. You still did very well! Now, if I could stop compulsively buying salad dressing...
