Homeschool Showcase Submission Guidelines
>> Monday, December 15, 2008
Thank you for your insterest in Homeschool Showcase. Previously The Carnival of Cool Homeschoolers, this carnival was started by Shez, of Homeschooled Twins in March of 2008. It was moved to Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers in December of 2008 when health problems arose, preventing Shez from maintaining the carnival, where it became officially known as Homeschool Showcase: Where the spotlight's on you.
If you are unfamiliar with blog carnivals, please read "What is a blog carnival?" and other frequently asked questions.
Following are the guidelines for submitting your posts to Homeschool Showcase. The guidelines are not meant t0 come across as a list of rules, but rather a sharing of a vision. The description of Homeschool Showcase reads as follows:
What are you doing in your homeschool that will encourage and inspire other homeschooling families? Are you running an awesome co-op? Are you teaching a class that has the participants begging to attend daily? Do your children wake up before dawn and beg to start school? Did you let your children spend the day playing in the mud just because it rained and call that school? Is your family homeschooling while trekking through Outer Mongolia? Do you encourage your budding dress designer to wear her creations, even though they make you cringe? Did you just complete an incredible hands-on project that your whole family is talking about?
Whatever it is that makes your home school -- and your homeschoolers special -- we want to hear about it!
There are lots of awesome carnivals out there. We want Homeschool Showcase's unique niche to be a place to share the awesome, exciting, inspiring things that you're doing in your home school. We'd love to have your tips, your inspiring stories, your fun crafts, your exciting field trips, your homeschool student's entrepreneurial adventures and other posts of that nature.
With that in mind, here are some guidelines to help you in deciding which of your posts to submit for the Showcase:
1) Most importantly, all posts must be family-friendly (G-rated). Posts with profanity or adult content will not be accepted.
2) One post per blog. If you maintain more than one blog, you may submit one post from each of your blogs, if you would like to do so.
3) Posts from bloggers with a homeschool-related business may submit posts relating to their business or products. We want to support our homeschool families in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
4) Submissions must be written by homeschoolers, be related to homeschooling, or, at least, be of reasonable interest to homeschoolers.
5) Homeschool Showcase will be posted every other Monday. All posts must be submitted by 4:00 PM (EST) on the Sunday prior to the current edition. I strongly prefer that you submit your posts using the submission form at Blog Carnival. However, submissions can also be emailed by clicking here.
If you email your submission, you must include the following:
- "Homeschool Showcase Submission" in the subject line
- The name of the post being submitted
- The URL of the post being submitted (direct link to the post)
- The name of your blog
- The URL for your blog
- Any optional remarks that you may wish to make
To submit a post, read the archives or find out about future carnivals, visit our page on Blog Carnival.
Thanks so much for sharing your resources and inspiration with us via Homeschool Showcase, formerly Carnival of Cool Homeschoolers! I look forward to reading your submissions.

This sounds like such a fun carnival! I never had the chance to participate previously, but I hope to put in some submissions in the future. I've added the button to my blog!
Merry Christmas,
Cindy
