My flat iron quit working last week. On Thanksgiving Day. Yes, Thanksgiving Day. So, I got to go to all our family events, as well as Black Friday shopping the next day, with a frizzy head. I'm one of those oh-so-lucky people who has thick hair with just enough wave to make it look frizzy and unkempt if I don't straighten it.
I was going to pick up another inexpensive flat iron like the one I'd had for a couple of years, when my sister pointed out the one she's been wanting. It was a Remington Wet-2-Straight. You can, as the name suggests, use it on wet or dry hair. It was on sale for just $3 more than the cheap one I was going to buy, so I bought it, thinking that Brianna might like the wet setting since she likes to straighten her hair, but rarely cares to take the time to dry it. Taking much longer than normal on my hair for a day when I wouldn't be leaving the house, I tried the straightener out on Saturday, just to see how it worked. It has vents for the steam to escape when using it on wet hair. You'll want to watch out for those. Ouch!
Despite the 2-inch wide ceramic plates, it still took quite a while to actually dry my thick hair with the straightener since it was completely wet when I started. After I finished, I liked the look, but I told Brian that I probably wouldn't use it with my hair wet very often because it took so long.
I took that statement back the next day.
I've discovered that I can get away with only washing my hair every other day, if I straighten it on the in-between days. With the Remington Wet-2-Straight, I didn't even have to straighten my hair the next day. It was still so smooth and shiny! As a matter of fact, I'd been planning to get my hair cut for weeks and now I've decided not to get it cut as short as I'd planned, because I think I can finally achieve the straight, smooth style that I've wanted for years with this straightener.
Oh, and it has an automatic shut-off, which Brian really likes.
I have not been compensated by the folks at Remington at
all (of course, if somebody there reads this and wants to compensate me, just let me know!). This is a completely unsolicited review...this product just totally works for me!Visit Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer for more Works for Me Wednesday tips.

Very cool! I'm so glad it works so well for you. I splurged on a chi a few years back and they'll have to pry that baby from my hands when I'm gone! I think my SIL will love the Wet 2 dry feature so I'm going to pick one up for her. Thanks so much!
I love my flat iron, but I splurged on a Chi. I couldn't live without it!
Since you both mentioned a CHI, I had to go see what it was. Yes, I'm in the dark. I'd never even heard of the brand.
Ouch! That's some serious splurging! LOL Apparently you each love yours, though. I'll have to keep that in mind for when this one dies.
Oh! I want one of those. If I want to straighten my hair, I have to shower the night before so it'll be totally dry. That much planning ahead is not one of my strengths. LOL
I have been waning a CHI forever.
I do think the wet/dry would be really good for my oldest daughter.
Thanks for the review...
not sure what kind of hair you have (just jumped here from WFMW) - but my hair guy has a fabulous product that he designed that my sister LOVES. It's perfect for those who use a flat iron.
I have several links embedded in this post:

I need to get one of those! My hair has not looked right since Casee moved out in August...and took the flat iron with her! I can afford this one, but not a CHI.
We had one of those. Sorry to say it only lasted about 2 years. I did love it when it worked though. One thing though, my teen daughter FRIED her hair by using it when her hair was wet. It seems to work better if it's only damp.
