My friend, Jeannie, over at Conquering Battles Daily, gave me a blog award this week. Nekey, from The Home on a Hill, also passed it along. First, I want to say: Thank you, Jeannie and Nekey. It's always such a nice feeling to know that when someone has been asked to pass along a blog award, your name comes to their mind. I appreciate that.
The second thing is, Jeannie said that neither she, nor the person who had given her the award, knew what it was supposed to be for, exactly. I happen to know because, recently, the award was given to Julie, whose blog I read. Julie's blog, A Celebration of Our Journey, is about her life as a mom to an autistic son. If you don't know much about autism, need ideas for homeschooling your autistic child, or just want some wonderful parenting and schooling ideas, you need to read Julie's blog. It's fantastic and I always leave there inspired.
So, for those who wonder, here's the text that was with the award when Julie received it...

This award is meant for people who are positive, show gratitude,
and of course: make lemons out of lemonade!
The rules for this award are that you post the graphic for it,
write a post that links back to the giver, and then pass it on to up to ten others.
Leave a comment on the blogs that get the award, so they know what's happened.
I'm not sure that Jeannie or Nekey would have given me the award if they'd known what it was for. They probably know that, when life gives me lemons, I'm just as likely to complain about the pits, about not having a juicer or about all the work involved in making lemonade as I am to actually make lemonade. Still, they can't take it back now. ;-)
I'm supposed to pass the award along to ten people. However, I know this one has already made the rounds of many of the blogs I read, so I may not make it to ten. I'll give it a shot, though.
1. Julie @ A Celebration of Our Journey -- Yeah, I know she already got this one, but I just wanted to reiterate that she really deserves it. She has a wonderful, positive attitude and inspires a lot of people, even though she may not know it.
2. Mary @ Many Little Blessings -- Just this week, she posted a touching story about what a blessing it is to see the world through the eyes of her autistic son.
3. Susan @ Mama2Many -- Susan is one of the most giving, generous, selfless people I know.
4. Christina @ Growing Little Women -- Despite the personal struggles she may be facing, Christina is always positive and faithful.
5. Jacque @ Walking Therein -- Jacque and her family's new ministry project, Gleaning the Harvest is going to be such a blessing to the families involved and I wish Jacque and her family much success in this ministry.
6. Jackie @ Step-by-Step -- Jackie and her family have just adopted a son from Russia. Whether she knows it or not, Jackie always has a wonderful attitude, even on the rough days.

hahahha... I don't think Jeannie would have given it to me either!
ReplyDeleteI still would have given it to you.
Aww... I was reading and agreeing with you about the people I knew who you mentioned... Shaking my head when I saw Christina, and Susan. Both such sweet women! Then I saw my name... thanks for the encouragment Kris! I'm not sure my husband would agree with that... but he definitely helps keep me grounded on the rough days, that's for sure!
