Works for Me Wednesday: Bar Keeper's Friend

It's rare that I find a product that I love well enough to blog about...especially a cleaning product, but this is one of them: Bar Keeper's Friend.

A few years ago, someone recommended it for cleaning my tub. It seemed that, no matter what product I used or how hard I scrubbed, nothing would get my tub really clean. Bar Keeper's Friend worked wonders! I still hate cleaning the tub, but if I'm going to have to do it, I would at least like it to look like I put all the effort into it that I did. With this product, it does.

Then, someone in my homeschool group mentioned using it for glass-top stoves. I was a little skeptical, at first, since everything in the care kit talks about being so careful with the stove top. Again, Bar Keeper's Friend works wonders -- and it's much cheaper than that cream cleaner they sell for the stove tops. I simply use one of those "scratch-free" scrubbing sponges, wet it and put a little of the cleaner on it. It's great for getting off stubborn cooking spills.

Bar Keeper's Friend definitely works for me (and, no, this is not a paid advertisement...I really love the product). Visit Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer for more Works for Me Wednesday tips.

  4. This is the product that was recommended by my kitchen counter installers - but now I think I'm going to try the sample they gave me on my nasty, uncleanable tub!

  5. I've never heard of this - but, anything that will clean my grimy tub AND my glass top stove, it's definitely worth looking for!

  6. I just buy it where I buy everything else, it seems...Walmart! I had never heard of it either, but I've never had any trouble finding it there.

And, yes, it is like Comet.

  9. I like this too. It's my second favorite, just after Zud, which can be impossible to find at times. It's like BKF...only better :) lol

  10. I too love this product. I heard about it on Flylady.net and thought I would give it a try. It's the only thing that got rust stains out of the potty. I found it at my grocery store next to the Comet.

  13. Julie,

Yes, our tub is fiberglass. I was worried, at first, about BKF scratching it, but it hasn't.

    HTH!
