Fine Dining

My back was bothering me last week. Friday night I knew I had a lot I wanted to get done on the computer and, although I now have my laptop, I wasn't willing to relocate from my favorite spot at the dining room table because I also needed room to spread out all my stuff. However, I also knew that my back couldn't take two more minutes, much less two more hours in this chair, which, although pretty, probably used to be some form of medieval torture:

So, I went down to the basement and got the smaller and more portable of our two desk chairs. Don't you think this is a nice look:

I figured Brian would have something negative to say about our new dining room furniture, what with timelines already on the wall and school books stacked up in corners. He did have something to say. He said we might have to get me a better chair since the wooden chairs are so rough on my back.

This was just a few hours before he went and bought Microsoft Office for my laptop. I hate that Circuit City is going out of business, but I sure was happy to get Word 2007 on my laptop for just $80.

I've got a good man.

  1. Your post really made me smile and warmed my heart. Comments like that from your husband are what I consider true romance! I love the timeline on your wall - it was the first thing that I noticed. Getting a timeline up (finally) is one of my goals for the summer. I like the chair-rail look of your timeline. You are blessed with a keeper of a husband it seems!

  3. I hate that Circuit City is going out of business, too, because now I can't get *my* laptop fixed unless I send it somewhere. So much for that extended warranty. (Fortunately, it's just an irritating issue, not a computer-threatening one. I'll just live with it. I've been living with it for 7 months, waiting for CC to start doing Toshiba repairs in-house as they had told me they would. *sigh*)

I like your timeline under the rail, too. I occasionally miss wall timelines. We have one in a notebook and one on the computer. And the office chair? Well, whatever works. But if hubby wants to get you a new one that will match the decor, all the better!

  5. Yes, we too have decorated our home in 21st Century Homeschool;-). That was sweet of your hubby.

I have had arthritis since I was 12, and am no stranger to pain. I have to say that back pain is one of the worst. Have you ever tried chiropractic?
