Works for Me Wednesday: Charger Drawer

With all the rechargeable gadgets we have these days, it can be impossible to keep up with all the chargers. That's why we have dedicated one drawer in the china hutch in our combination dining room/kitchen as our "charger drawer." All the chargers -- cell phones, Gameboys, cameras -- go into this drawer, taking the guess work out of where they could possibly be when it's time to recharge something. It works for me!

  1. that is a good idea. I would have to label each charger though, otherwise I would spend to much time trying to figure out what went with what!

  3. I do the same...I'm always nervous the kids are going to chuck those very expensive rechargeable batteries! And by the way, I love that quote above about "it takes a village". I just wrote a post a couple days back on how much that saying bugs me...glad someone else thinks alike!

  5. I've seen drawers with a power strip at the back so you can actually do the charging in the drawer. You could just cut a piece out of the back of the drawer/cabinet to plug in the power strip and it would all be contained that way.

  6. genius. How could I not have thought of this? Whenever something needs to be charged someone is always searching for some cord... all over the house. with 6 of us using loads of chargable things it's mayhem. I'm so making a drawer!! :)

  7. This is very smart. My mom has a drawer like happylittlehouse describes - with a hole in the back (or bottom) and the power strip in the drawer.

  9. Great idea, although I might have to find a bigger drawer, we have so many chargers between the 5 of us.
