States and Postal Abbreviations eBook Review and Giveaway

I was recently asked by Joy Miller, of FiveJ's to review her new eBook, Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations. I thought it would go nicely when we resume our Fifty State Fridays in the fall, plus she offered a giveaway copy for one of my readers and a discount for the rest of you, so I was happy to oblige.

Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations
is a handy little eBook with a variety of activities to help your kids (and you!) memorize the postal abbreviations -- including all those tricky "M" states. The activities are pretty self-explanatory, so you can incorporate them into your lesson plans however you'd like or Joy has provided lesson plans for you, if you'd rather be able to simply pick up the book and go.

Joy explains how the postal abbreviations are made, from easy to hardest and provides worksheets, flashcards, game ideas and maps (which will also help in learning the states' locations) to practice. The flash cards offer the state name on one side, with the abbreviation on the other. Printed out on cardstock, these would make a nice "car schooling" activity, as well. With vacation and travel season upon us, the flashcards and maps offer some fun travel game options -- think: quizzing with license plates.

Learn the States and Postal Abbreviations is 29 pages long with six separate lessons. It sells as an immediate download for only $5.95, but from now until July 5, 2009, Weird, Unsocialized Homeschool readers can purchase it for only $2.95. Just use coupon code WEIRDUHS when you check out.

If you'd like to win a copy, just leave a comment (be sure to include a way for me to contact you) and let me know you'd like to win. The contest will run until Monday, June 29 at around 6:00 PM EST and I'll announce the winner on my blog on Tuesday, June 30.

Good luck!

I received a free copy of this product for the purpose of reviewing it. The thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. Please read my full disclosure policy for details on such reviews.
