Have you seen the commercials for those new high-end dryers with the steam setting? You're supposed to be able to toss an article of clothing or two in the dryer, turn on the steam setting and pull the item out a little later, all refreshed and wrinkle-free.Ever wish your dryer had one of those settings? It does!
Maybe you recall that I've mentioned that I hate ironing. My anti-ironing plan involves pulling clothes out of the dryer as soon as they're done and hanging them up or folding them. Sometimes, though, I don't get the clothes out right away or I just need to refresh something. That's when I use my dryer's steam setting. Here's how it works:
1) Wet a washcloth and wring it out really well.
2) Toss the damp washcloth into the dryer with the clothes that need to be refreshed.
3) Turn dryer on for 10-15 minutes.
Voila! It's a steam setting...even for dryers that are nearly 20 years old, like mine.
