Making Memories

Whether the triggers are the smell of bacon frying, a snow day, or a little run-down bar that, in my mind, will always be brightly painted deli where my family and I would play Pac-Man or Centipede when I was a kid, there are memories from my childhood that I cherish.

I want my kids to have those kinds of memories. I want them to sit around the Thanksgiving table with their spouses, laughing as they replay the memories of their childhoods. What will their memories be?

I’m speculating and offering suggestions for memory-making activities today over at In a Nutshell. I hope you’ll come visit.

The Christmas traditions are what I remember from my childhood and parenthood. I could probably only name a handful of gifts from 40-mff years of gifts, but the family time stays in my mind.

That is a wonderful wish! I remember dipping eggs in dye for Easter with my children. Do you do that with the kids? If you do this year, you might check out my book “What’s in an Egg?”. Glorifying God, it is an introduction to reproduction in a natural way using duck eggs. A great addition to an art project dipping eggs!
