Do you know what this week is? Yes, you’re absolutely right…it’s my family’s last week of school for 2013! We’re pretty excited about that.

I love taking off from Thanksgiving until after New Year’s because it means that we can enjoy the fun and festivity of the holidays and focus on things like visiting family, eating turkey, giving thanks, wrapping presents, baking cookies, and watching our favorite Christmas movies without stressing over school assignments.

It also means a couple of other things:

1) I’m looking for fun, not-so-formal learning opportunities

2) Lots of folks are traveling

Great Homeschool Conventions can help! They’ve just added a brand new speaker for all three 2014 conventions. In addition to hosting the nationally syndicated radio show, The Michael Medved Show, Michael Medved is a historian and homeschool advocate.

To celebrate his addition to the phenomenal line-up of Great Homeschool Convention speakers, Mr. Medved and GHC are offering a free audio download of one of Michael’s most popular shows, The First Thanksgiving ~ Pilgrims, Puritans and the Founding of America.

This is perfect for that not-so-formal learning I’m looking for and people who are traveling because you can listen as you travel over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house…or, you know, wherever you’re going.

Visit Great Homeschool Conventions to learn more about how to get your free audio download of Michael Medved’s “The First Thanksgiving – Pilgrims, Puritans, and the Founding of America.”

Hurry because the offer ends November 30, 2013 and, of course, you want to listen before Thanksgiving is over.

  1. Kris,
Thank you for posting this free download offer. We are very excited to listen to it. Could you please let me know what I am missing, though? I registered and activated the code…..now what? I love your blog and all the wonderful advice and information you offer. Thank you.

    1. Um, I’m not sure. I just have the information on the offer. I would imagine that Great Homeschool Conventions should be able to help you with any technical problems you may be having with the audio download. You can contact them at [email protected]. They should be able to help you figure out what’s going on. Thanks for reading! I’m so glad you enjoy the blog.

  2. We are also looking for non-formal ways to learn–History especially. I was just wondering if you homeschooled year-round or just during the school year August-May.

  3. I just happened upon your blog through facebook this year. Wish I had found it before then. We (my children and I) have become completely bored with the books I have been using for the past three years. Would love to hear your discoveries in new and informal ways of learning. I’m looking too. We’ll see what happens.
