As promised – because I know you’re all waiting on tenterhooks – I’m sharing an update on my weight-loss. I wish I had some super-exciting news to share, but, to be honest, I was rather disappointed in my results this week. Essentially, I stayed the same.

I wish that I had come home from my health risk assessment and weighed on my scale. There was a big drop from the Wednesday I got back on track and the following Monday when I weighed on my scale, but I’m not really sure how much of that was actual loss and how much was a difference in scales. Knowing that might make me feel better about a smaller loss in what is basically week 2.

I don’t feel like the scale showed an accurate reflection of the effort I put in last week. I did have one bad eating day last Friday, but it shouldn’t have been enough to offset all the good choices I made last week.

That’s okay, though. Sometimes it happens that way. I’m just going to keep making good choices and plugging away.

What I did right last week:

  • Followed my workout schedule
  • Got in extra steps by walking on the treadmill during Megan’s gymnastics class
  • Made a healthy dessert for our family dinner and had a reasonable serving
  • Made a healthy breakfast on Saturday

My goals for this week:

  • Work on being more active on the weekend
  • Be at or below my calorie goal every day (excluding Monday in which I made a very poor decision that I later regretted)
  • Work on hitting my step goal at least 5 of 7 days

How are you doing with your weight-loss efforts?

  1. I’m about the same too. 🙂 It’s been a birthday weekend in our house so staying on track was a little iffy. I did manage to only eat cake one time 😉

  2. Kris, I love your optimism! Week 2 is notoriously difficult as your body adjusts and it sounds like you’re doing well with sticking to your goals. I like to remind myself that it’s not all about what the scale says and the weight will come off in the long run if I’m diligent with my eating plan and exercise. I don’t know what it is about Mondays, but most of my slip ups occur after the weekend…

  3. ‘Making good choices and plugging away’. This. I know it’s disappointing, but weight is an arbitrary reading. You know from past successes, if you keep plugging away your health will increase whilst your size decreases. I’m willing you on across the ocean and I have full confidence you will be where you want to be in no time at all.

  4. It is so hard! I have managed to lose a couple of pounds, but I haven’t been exercising as I should. My husband and I walk most nights, but lately we have had nightly thunderstorms. I am going to have to find a way to give myself some goodness because I am already feeling deprived. I know myself well enough to know that isn’t going to fly for long.

  5. For the first month it will be up and down or stayed the same weight wise for me. My job is to focus on doing things that are on my list. At the end of the day did I do everything? Was I sneaky or dishonest in my reporting? If I can say yes to the good stuff and no to dishonesty, then all is good and keep going. This week was awesome. I tripped mentally over going to an Indian buffet on Wednesday and not figuring out how to report that – couldn’t pronounce it let alone figure out what was in it. Tonight is my tap class and just can’t wait. Who knew tap was such a workout! Planning and preparing today for the areas that were a challenge last week so hopefully it will be smoother. Hope you have an awesome week filled with fun and energy!
