Weekly Weigh-In

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means…it’s weigh-in time! It doesn’t matter when your official weigh-in day is. Add your results today or stop back by whenever you weigh-in and update.

I’m disappointed to report that I did not hit 75 lbs. this week. I gained 0.2 lbs. Not too bad, but I didn’t reach my goal.

My scale often reminds me of The Biggest Loser scale– it will often show one number for a few seconds, then, settle on a final number. This usually doesn’t last long, but when I weighed yesterday, it stayed on 144.4 long enough for me to gasp, thinking that I was there.

Then, it settled on 146. *sigh*

That’s okay, though. I’m recalculating. I’m watching The Biggest Loser as I’m typing this and the big theme of the night is finishing what you started.

A couple of the contestants have commented that they’ve never finished what they’ve started, until now. I can relate. In the past, when the going got tough, I quit. No more. I’ve realized that I’m not a quitteranymore.

Losing the last few pounds may be proving difficult, but I’m not quitting. I will finish what I started.

Will you?

  1.  You are SO inspiring.  I don't want to be a quitter either.  I am close to my goal weight (after losing 80lbs) and it can be really frustrating!  Thank you for helping me today!  I will repeat in my head all day, "I am not a quitter" and "I WILL finish what you started"!!!

  2.  I lost 1 1/2 pounds this week.  Sometimes I think I need a new scale; I don't think it is always accurate!

  3. How close are you to goal? This sort of thing happens when you're close, doesn't it?

I'm down 3 lbs this week.

  4. Thank you so much, Jill. I'm so glad I could inspire you. I honestly think that the closer you get to your goal, the harder it gets. I know we can do it, though, as long as we don't quit. Hey, we've made it this far!

  5. Yes, I think weight-loss slows down considerably the closer you get to your goal. I'm currently 21 lbs. from my goal weight.

Way to go on your 3 lb. loss!! That's worth doing the happy dance for, which, incidentally, is probably a great calorie burn. 😉

  6.  (Guessing this is in response to me. It seems as if my comment disappeared?)

I did do some happy dancing. And I'm about to do more moving on the treadmill.

Being 21 lbs from goal is just excellent! And it stinks that it slows down, but you're sooooo cloooooose! I can't imagine quitting at that point!

  7. It was for you. Your comment came through twice, so I deleted what I thought was the extra one (it's back now, I think). I'm still figuring out Disqus, but I LOVE the reply and threaded comment features!

  8.  I like that too, a lot. It seems as if I can't comment (easily) from my phone though. I guess that just means I'll have to keep my mouth shut unless I'm at my computer. LOL!
