Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! And, Happy New Year! I can’t believe Christmas is over and we’re already a week into 2017. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.

Our Christmas was excellent, but I rang in the new year with a cold. Not fun. I haven’t been really sick in several years, so I was probably a baby about it. Thankfully, the worst of it only lasted two days. I have discovered the joys of nasal spray. That stuff is magic! I wish I’d tried it years ago. Because, you know, I’m a fan of breathing.

You can’t stand around too long these days or a puppy just might flop down for a nap on your feet.

Probably the best moment of my entire Christmas was watching Megan open her gift from my sister, brother-in-law, and niece. It was a money holder card, but instead of money, it contained a note that read, in part, “You’re going to see Green Day!”

Megan loves Green Day and so do my sister and brother-in-law, so when they found out the band was going to be in our area, they got tickets for the three of them to go. I videoed Megan opening the card and I’ve watched it over and over. Seeing the realization of what she’s reading dawn on her and her reaction to it was priceless.

We’ve spent the last week just hanging and relaxing after the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Brian’s been off since Wednesday, so it’s been really enjoyable to all be home together with nothing on the agenda. None of us are terribly excited for Monday to roll around.

I really have enjoyed my blogging break, which extended a bit longer than I’d intended thanks to my cold. I’m very thankful to have contributing writers so I could still share great content with you while I convalesced (read: laid around and whined).

I have the cutest table decoration!

Belle, the puppy, is doing fantastic. She is so sweet and smart. She already whines at the door to go out. Once she’s too big to squeeze through the fence, we’re going to start teaching her to go out with the big dogs. She also sits on command. We’re working on stay and come – which will be really helpful when she’d like to run off into the woods when she’s outside.

She sleeps under my feet wherever I am when I’m watching her, but there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that she’s Brianna’s dog. She whines at the door every time Brianna leaves for work. She already sleeps in the bed with her person every night, too.

A rare picture of these two sharing space

Now, I’m off to enjoy a lazy relaxing day with my husband and kids. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
