Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? I haven’t even come to terms with it being November yet, so I’m not sure how that can be.

It’s been another busy week of doctor appointments and taxi service for me. Josh has been very involved in music and production (lights and cameras) at church in both the youth and main services.

A special youth event last Sunday night, an event for college students on Wednesday, and prep for this upcoming Sunday have meant lots of traveling to and from this week and much discussion about how we should move closer to the church – it’s a 26 mile round trip drive now.

I’d love to share some crazy fun things we’ve done with school this week, but with all the doctor’s appointments and errands, we’ve really just been working at keeping our heads above water. We usually take a six week break starting the Monday before Thanksgiving, but this year, we’ll be using the first three days of next week to catch up and tie up loose ends.

Brianna has been busy, as well. She’s probably only got 2-3 months left before she’s ready to take her state board exam to get her cosmetology license, which is both exciting and a bit scary.

In addition to school, she’s been working a lot. The holiday season is a busy time for both the movie theater and the warehouse club where she’s been working 2-3 days each week. She’s going to be worn out, but like any poor, young adult, she’s looking forward to the nice paychecks.

After having torrential rains most of the day on Wednesday, yesterday’s gorgeous sunshine was a welcome sight. I hope there will be more of the same this weekend, but I haven’t even looked at the forecast.

In case you missed it on the blog this week:

And over at About.com:

Megan spend a lot of time watching Inside Out, which I loved at the theater, but I haven’t had a chance to sit down and watch it again. Maybe this weekend…if I don’t go see Mockingjay Part 2.

Two important announcements: First, there will be no Weekly Wrap Up next Friday, November 27, due to the Thanksgiving holiday – or, you know, Thursday for those of you living outside the U.S.

Next, if all goes according to plan, Thanksgiving weekend, I plan to switch newsletter services. If you read my posts directly on my site or if you receive them via email, you should not notice a change at all other than probably the appearance of the email itself.

If you read via a feed reader such as Feedly or Blog Lovin’, and you want to make sure you don’t miss any posts, you may want to subscribe by email, at least for now. I’ll post a few more reminders and updates as I figure out all the details.

How was your week? Be sure to post about it and link up. If this is your first time to join us, be sure to read the Weekly Wrap-Up guidelines. You can also follow the guidelines link to grab the banner code.

**Remember, be sure to link directly to your Weekly Wrap-Up post so that others can find it easily when they visit your blog and be sure to post a link back here so that your readers can find the Wrap-Up and join us.

  1. We finally watched Inside Out this week. So good! (Though it was totally over my 6yo’s head.) Your cats are cute enough to redeem a teeny bit of my cat-animosity after a neighborhood cat deposited a half-dead squirrel in my driveway. But I still don’t like that one!

    1. Yeah, every once in awhile my outside kitties bring me presents. I’m not so impressed with that. Your neighborhood kitty was probably trying to welcome you to the neighborhood. 😉

    1. Nope, you’re in the right place. This is just one more for the people who think I’m kidding when I say that I have to add simple things – you know, like “add linky code to Weekly Wrap-Up” – to my planner or I forget. Seriously, I hope my kids are prepared to take care of me soon.

  2. I can’t believe Brianna’s almost finished her course! Where does the time go? Does she still want to go into stage make up? (sorry I don’t know what her proper title would be) What is the next step to reach her dream?
It must be so exciting to watch her at the start of her adulthood spring-boarding into all the wonderful things the future holds.
PS Can I come and snuggle with your cats please? They look so fluffy and gorgeous and I miss mine so much.

    1. I’ll send the orange one over if you want him. 😉 I’m kidding. Mostly. Brianna’s not sure exactly what she’s going to do next. She’s considering one of two things. First, trying to get a job at one of the nice salons in town so that she can get more training and have steady work in a related field. Her other option is traveling to a make-up school about 3 hours away that does 6-8 week courses on different techniques. She has a lot to decide in the next few months. See? Exciting and scary.
