What do you say in the wake of a tragedy such as what has happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut today? The happenings of my week are insignificant in light of today’s events.

It is unfathomable that someone would prey on young, innocent children. The grief that the victims’ families are enduring is unimaginable and unspeakable. These families lives have been changed forever. I imagine that these are people for whom Christmas will be a season of sadness instead of joy from now on.

My heart breaks for them. I cry with and for them. They are in my prayers.

Blessings to you all,

  1. It is so unbelievable and my heart breaks for those families. I’m hugging my babies extra tight tonight because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

  2. I too just lay my head down in prayer for those families and that town that was infected with such awfulness today! Praying for the community and the people who this has touched so deeply! <3

  3. In light of this horrific event, I’m trying to keep this quote in mind:

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” -Mister Rogers
