Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve all had an excellent week. It’s been the first week of our Christmas break, so I can’t complain. Other than losing track of what day it is, it’s been a good week. Plus, it finally quit raining!

Brian was off on Monday, so we went out for brunch and enjoyed some time alone (well, as alone as you can be in a restaurant at lunch time) together.

Later, I was coerced into taking Megan and a friend to the mall. The mall. In the rain. Not my top choice for a Monday, but it really wasn’t too bad once we got there. It wasn’t crowded and I spent most of our time there sitting around sipping on Chick-fil-A sweet tea while they wandered around.

Tuesday was a family movie night – Mockingjay, Part 2. It was raining buckets again, but at least it was dry in the movie theater and it was $2 drink night, so there was popcorn and Coke to be enjoyed.

I got home just in time to join the Homeschool Moms’ Winter Summit Facebook party. I’ll be at the Texas event in February. I’m really excited because I’ve never been to Texas before. If you’d like to join me, you can take $10 off your registration using coupon code Weird10.

You might as well go ahead and buy your ticket – the price increases in January. You know you’re going to need some inspiration and R&R by February. The registration would make a great Christmas gift.

Wednesday was awesome for an introverted homebody – I didn’t have to leave the house all day. {grin} I didn’t get as much accomplished as I’d hoped, but I was home – and it wasn’t raining. It was gloomy-looking and overcast all day, but no rain.

Brian and I started watching Elementary Wednesday night. We kept seeing commercials for it while watching other shows and every time we’d see one I’d comment that it looked like a show we’d enjoy. So, I ordered Season 1 on DVD so we could start from the beginning. We watched 4 episodes the first night!

We’ve got to pace ourselves, though. We need something to watch from now until February while all the other shows we like are on their fall break.

I texted this picture to my brother-in-law the other night with the message, “Thank you again for that time you found my cat.” {smile} We sure are thankful we got him back when he got lost a year or so ago.

On Thursday sunshine, glorious sunshine, returned! It was cold all day, but I can handle the cold as long as it looks pretty outside. There’s nothing like several consecutive rainy days to make you appreciate the sunshine.

Today will be slightly busy with a doctor’s appointment and some errands, but not too bad and we have plans to go bowling with friends tonight, so there’s something to look forward to.

  1. We had a ton of rain, but it’s Nutcracker week so we are focused on other things. What a nice relaxing first week of break.
    Blessings, Dawn
