Happy Friday, friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. Ours has definitely had its ups and downs, but it’s been mostly good and, hey, it’s Friday!

Monday was an up day. Brian and the kids went out for lunch with his dad. They visited some thrift stores while they were out and Brian found a Scene-It game, Friends edition. Knowing what a huge Friends fanatic I am, he snatched it up for me. Only one of the pack of trivia cards had been opened – everything else was still in its original packing, so nothing was missing.

He’s even played it with me a couple of times. Of course, I kicked his butt, but that came as a surprise to no one.

Later, he went to Costco to pick up a few things…and came back with a huge bouquet of sunflowers (my favorite) and The Hunger Games DVD. Yes, he loves me. Yes, I’m spoiled.

Then, Monday evening we went to the Sleep Number store to find out our Sleep Number. Oh. My. Word. I did not even want to come back home and sleep on our 13+ year old mattress. Those beds are so insanely comfortable. I can’t wait till we get ours! I mean, seriously, don’t I look comfy?

Wednesday was a horrible day. Attitudes were awful (mine, too, probably) and there was much bickering. Again, I am married to a wonderful man. After dinner, he took the kids out to a movie that I didn’t care about seeing and left me home alone. It was so quiet that I kept hearing all these odd little house noises that I usually can’t hear and wondering what in the world they were.

I was able to get two blog posts done and catch up a few things on my to-do list. The silence and the feeling of catching up a bit were just what I needed to maintain my sometimes tenuous grip on sanity.

By this time next week, I’ll be enjoy some grown-up mom time at the Savvy Blogging Summit in Atlanta! I can’t wait! Last night, I was lamenting to my mom and sister that I needed a dress for the red carpet event on Thursday night. My sister went and brought out some of her dressy dresses and I found one that just suits me.

Not only that, but my mom had brought some shoes that she didn’t want anymore and there was a pair that just matched the dress! How cool is that? I’m so glad that I won’t be “the girl who wore blue jeans to the red carpet event” now. I’m going to get myself a nice pedicure this week and I’ll be all set.

I’m going to plan on going ahead and scheduling the Weekly Wrap-Up post next week. It may just be a linky without a post from me, but y’all can plan on going ahead and linking up your posts.

Speaking of link-ups, I added a link-up to my Operation Christmas Child post. If you’ve written a post about packing boxes, suggestions for what to put in boxes, or other posts of that nature, feel free to link up. Lots of other bloggers are hosting the link up, so if you link up here, you’ll be linked on their blogs, as well. Hopefully, it will be a great source of ideas for packing shoeboxes this year.

  1. I really need to go check out the sleep number beds…I am having a hard time sleeping and I think it may be my mattress.

Hope you have a fantastic time at Savvy and say hi to Jamie and Tricia for me okay? Thanks for hosting the link-up.

    1. If you do check out the Sleep Number beds, be sure to check out their pillows, too. They built Brian and I pillows and we’re more than likely going to buy them once we find out for sure when our bed is coming. I was lying on my pillow in that photo. Nice!

    1. Well, I’m actually going to be writing a review of the Sleep Number bed, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have taken my camera mattress shopping…maybe. It is kind of a blogger thing to do. 😉

  2. The photo of you laying down on the Sleep Number Bed is really good advertising. I want one now after seeing this picture. The Hunger Games DVD set is enough for me to dedicate the rest of the school week to a Hunger Games Unit Study. LOL. Thank you for sharing and hosting.

  3. Thanks for hosting! We got a new mattress this year – Icomfort and we LOVE it. I am sure we would love a sleep number too. I slept on one at a really nice hotel and it was heavenly.

  4. My husband and I bought a Select Comfort bed 14 yrs. ago and we still love it. When this one wears out we will for sure get another.

  5. Well, it seems like you had a great week in general despite the little problems. You sure are lucky to have a loving and responsible husband. I guess you deserve it after all because you’re a good mother. Keep it up.
