I’ve had a lot of fun with posts such at 10 things I’d change if I could have a homeschool do-over. It can be fun to daydream about things you’d do differently. However, the one problem with posts like that from us oldbies (you know, the opposite of a newbie) is that they may sound condescending if the writer or the reader doesn’t take into account the different seasons of life.

I’ve been guilty of that myself.

So, if you’re a newbie homeschool mom (or will be homeschooling sometime in the future), I hope you’ll pop over to Real Life at Home (the new home of The Homeschool Classroom) and read the bit of encouragement for new homeschool moms that I’ve shared over there today.

Just keep an eye on the goldfish.

Kris Bales is a newly-retired homeschool mom and the quirky, Christ-following, painfully honest founder (and former owner) of Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers. She has a pretty serious addiction to sweet tea and Words with Friends. Kris and her husband of over 30 years are parents to three amazing homeschool grads. They share their home with three dogs, two cats, a ball python, a bearded dragon, and seven birds.

    1. I’ve emailed Angie at Real Life at Home to find out what’s happened. The post is scheduled to publish today. It could be a Word Press glitch. Hopefully, it will be published soon. Thanks for letting me know about the link.
