For the next twelve weeks, I’m participating in the Fitblogger Challenge.  The challenge is to set a fitness goal for yourself – you choose – each week for the next twelve weeks.  It can be anything related to fitness, except a specific weight-loss goal, since the goal is to get in better health; weight-loss may just be a side benefit of better health goals.

Each week, Fitblogger is giving away one MyTrax Lifestyle Activity Coach and they’re doing one overall giveaway at the end for a total of 13 MyTrax systems.  Sounds like fun!

My goal for this week is to run at least 12 miles.  I set that goal for myself last week and fell a little short after having my running time interrupted by emergency refrigerator shopping on Sunday.  Not fun.  So I decided to carry the same goal over this week.

So far, I have run over six miles.  I’m meeting my running buddy this morning for another 3 miles and I’ve got my third 5K on Saturday, so I’m on track to meet my goal.

My goal for my 5K on Saturday, though I’m not including it as part of my Fitblogger Challenge, is to set a new personal record (PR).  My current PR is 34:52.  I’d really like to do Saturday’s run in 33:00.  I think I stand a good chance, since it’s a mostly flat course.  We’ll see.

Have you set any personal goals for yourself this week?  It’s not too late to get in on the Fitblogger Challenge if you haven’t.  Tell ‘em Kris sent you.  (Actually, I sincerely doubt they care who sent you and probably don’t know who Kris is, so you can just leave that part out.)
