Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! And, just like that (imagine me snapping my fingers), here we are at the last week of school. This year passed so quickly.

Did all of you who are moms have a nice Mother’s Day? Mine was probably one of the best ever. We didn’t do anything super-special, but we just enjoyed the whole day together – something that becomes more precious as you become mom to a bunch of teens.

We started the day at church with a really exceptional message. I work in the nursery with the little, bitty babies after service. All my babies were fussy this week. Well, in one little boy’s defense, he didn’t get fussy until the end. Probably because he’d been listening to my two girls fuss all morning. {grin}

Even the fussy babies didn’t bother me, though, for a few reasons. One, it always makes me appreciate having teens. (Of course, they fuss, too, but in a different way.) Two, it makes me feel good that I can deal with someone’s fussy baby for an hour so they can enjoy church. And, three, I get to give them back to their mamas and go home at the end of the hour. I’m going to make a good grandma someday. {grin}

After church we went to Zaxby’s, which was blissfully deserted. Then, it was home for a Sunday nap. When I woke up, I was scrolling through Facebook. Josh had tagged me in this video which resulted in The Ugly Cry.

Brian took me out and bought me the new FitBit Charge that I’ve been drooling over. Then, we came home and grilled steaks. Yum! Later, we did this – for the 3rd time:

Avengers

I am not really a fan of action movies, but I love the Avengers movies and this one is really good. Have you seen it?

The rest of the week was pretty much business-as-usual until yesterday when Josh went to help with some work going on at the church. After I dropped him off, I went and did a little shopping. Then, I took Brianna to lunch. Afterward, I went and took advantage of having a kid in cosmetology school and got my eyebrows waxed.

Okay, and my lip, too. Yeah, it stinks to get old and start growing a mustache to rival your teenage son’s. Just sayin.’

Josh has a music performance tomorrow, so we’re hoping the impending rain holds off. Then, we’re into our last week of school before summer break. Yippee!

  4. We love the Avengers movies! We’ve only been once so far but my husband is talking about us going a second time. What awesome movies these stories make. Thanks for hosting and hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  5. Oh, so with you re. facial hair, although I just have two hairs on my chin which have been determinedly growing since I was about ten and no matter how many times I pull them out they always come back. Sheesh, I never thought anything could be more stubborn than me but those two hairs…..
    I’m so pleased you had a lovely Mother’s Day.

    1. Oh, yes, I have those, too – and two of them, just like you. I refer to them as my “Witch Hazel” hairs. I’ve learned to keep an eye out for them. 🙂
