I’m Kris, a Christian wife and homeschooling mom. My wonderful husband, Brian, and I have been married since 1991 and I’ve homeschooled our three great (most days!) kids since 2002. You’ll frequently find me sharing ideas about things we’ve done in our homeschool (such as making salt dough maps and a paper mache Earth), things that work in our home (like our chore chart or my coupon binder), ways we make memories and my thoughts and ramblings on my faith (like how to bloom where you’re planted or what we can learn from Esther).

Kris Bales is a newly-retired homeschool mom and the quirky, Christ-following, painfully honest founder (and former owner) of Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers. She has a pretty serious addiction to sweet tea and Words with Friends. Kris and her husband of over 30 years are parents to three amazing homeschool grads. They share their home with three dogs, two cats, a ball python, a bearded dragon, and seven birds.

So nice to meet you. Your blog title is cracking me up! I was just passing through this morning before I get ready for church. I would love to homeschool my boys, but the hubs and I don’t always see eye to eye on that one. I definitely struggle with the idea of “one size fits all” education. I’m definitely planning on stopping by again soon!

I think I turned out ok if I’m working in public relations/marketing now. I don’t have kids (yet) but I keep a file of ideas that I want to try on the future-kids someday.
