Ultimate Blog Party 2009
Welcome to all the folks who are visiting from 5 Minutes for Mom’s Ultimate Blog Party 2009! This is my first time to participate in the party, so my hostessing skills may be a little rusty. If you were visiting for real, I’d be serving you a cheese ball and maybe some warm spinach-artichoke dip…and it’d all be washed down with a nice, tall glass of sweet tea.

I’m Kris, a Christian wife and homeschooling mom. My wonderful husband, Brian, and I have been married since 1991 and I’ve homeschooled our three great (most days!) kids since 2002. If you’re interested, you can find out why we homschool here. If you’re curious about or are considering homeschooling, please check out my newly-updated FAQ page.

You’ll frequently find me sharing ideas about things we’ve done in our homeschool (such as making salt dough maps and a paper mache Earth), things that work in our home (like our chore chart or my coupon binder), ways we make memories and my thoughts and ramblings on my faith (like how to bloom where you’re planted or what we can learn from Esther).

I host the Weekly Wrap-Up on Fridays and the Homeshool Showcase every other Monday. I hope you’ll consider joining us. If you stopped by from the Ultimate Blog Party, I hope you’ll take a second to leave a comment and introduce yourself.

They share their home with three dogs, two cats, a ball python, a bearded dragon, and seven birds.

  1. Party-hopping and clicked on your mr. linky ‘cuz I loved the name! My kids go to Christian school (as did I) so they’re often considered weird and unsocialized too. 🙂

    Happy partying!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog! You had me at cheese! I can’t wait to try out this recipe and the spinach one…I love me some spinach dip!!

    Happy Partying!

  3. Found you at the UBP09 by searching for "homeschool," & I'm already inspired (peanut butter & pretzels–one I should have done in February for Lincoln's 200th!). I will definitely mark this in NetNewsWire for regular updates. We're newbies to homeschooling (though it's always been written on our hearts!). Thanks for the fun site. Happy Blogging Week to you!

  4. Nice to meet you!

    Talk about a party!

I’m quite intrigued and am learning how to get around!

Just stopping by from 5minutes for moms blog party!

  5. So nice to meet you. Your blog title is cracking me up! I was just passing through this morning before I get ready for church. I would love to homeschool my boys, but the hubs and I don’t always see eye to eye on that one. I definitely struggle with the idea of “one size fits all” education. I’m definitely planning on stopping by again soon!

  6. I’m stopping by to visit from the UBP. Your blog name caught my attention, because I was a homeschooled growing up, and heard the “unsocialized” spiel a lot. Haha. I think I turned out ok if I’m working in public relations/marketing now. I don’t have kids (yet) but I keep a file of ideas that I want to try on the future-kids someday. So I just might be back… I like what I see on your blog. 🙂 Blessings!

  7. I subscribe and decided I should drop by for your party and say “hi!”

I am a SAHM to our two highly spirited little boys whom I will begin officially homeschooling this fall as the oldest turns 5 this summer.

  8. Hi Kris. Thank you for stopping by my blog on the UBP! I LOVE your blog title-it is awesome! I am going to check out your chore chart-I’m looking for some new ideas for the kiddo’s:)
    Have a great week!

  9. I’m stopping by from the UBP. It’s nice to “meet” you! I really like your blog! I’m a new homeschooling mom, and will be back to check out all your ideas and info! Hope you have a great day!

  10. What a great blog!

That log cabin is awesome. My kids would love it.

I’ll def stop by more often!
