For better or worse, it’s Weekly Weigh-In time. A few people expressed interest in participating in a link-up again and a need for the accountability, so I’m including the linky this week. I know everyone has different weigh-in days, so just whenever you get around to posting your results after your weigh-in day, stop by and link up.
You may or may not have noticed that my little ticker didn’t move this week. That’s because it’s not even worth it to me to record a 0.2 lb. weight loss. Despite the way it sounds, though, I’m really not grumbling. I did see a smaller number about mid-week, but I think Mother Nature (a.k.a. “Aunt Flo,” “the Scourge of Womanhood,” “The Curse of Eve…” I think you get the idea) caught up with me by Friday. That and the fact that I didn’t get back to the Y last week. I’m going to make myself go this week, though, and quit using the busyness of of getting back into our school routine as an excuse.
I was thinking about my summer weight-loss last night. I was a little bit aggravated that I’ve only lost about 10 lbs. over the last two months until I realized that I’ve continued to lose, not just maintain, while doing the amount of physical activity that I could easily maintain for the rest of my life. I’ve walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes four or five days each week this summer and, then, made it my goal for the rest of each day to get some movement in, rather than just sitting around all day.
With that level of activity, I’ve not just maintained my weight loss, but even managed to lose an additional 10 lbs. That’s exciting to me! That means that when I get to my goal weight, I should be able to keep the weight off by maintaining that activity level and continuing to make the healthier food choices that are becoming second nature to me. That means that the changes I’ve been making really are becoming lifestyle changes that I’m confident I can maintain long-term. That’s exciting stuff!
Now, hopefully, next week I’ll be able to come back and report an impressive weight loss after having gotten back into the routine of going to the Y three or four days a week.
How about you? How are you weight-loss efforts going?
