Weekly Weigh-In

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! This is a very special Wednesday…my baby turns 10 today. I can’t believe that all my kids are double-digits now.

It’s exciting to be the smallest weight that Megan has ever seen me. She hugged me last night and said to Brian, “Look what I can do to Mom,” as she wrapped her arms all the way around me with room to spare.

So, how did you do on the scale this week? I didn’t do quite as well as I’d hoped, but I’m far from disappointed. I lost a pound. That doesn’t put me back where I was a few weeks ago, but it’s a good, solid step in the right direction.

There have been a lot of things that have gone right this week. First, my activity level is getting back to where it should be. I ran 6 miles on Sunday (on the treadmill…bleck!). I should have had my first 12 mile long run Sunday, according to my training plan, but with our vacation and fall activities gearing back up, my long run time has taken a serious hit.

In order to build back up to where I should be, it’s my plan to run 8 miles this Sunday, 10 the next, and either 11 or 12 the next. Hopefully 12, but I don’t want to increase my mileage too quickly. I ran 5 miles on the treadmill yesterday and plan to do that Thursday and Friday, as well, according to this week’s training plan.

I did not record my food last week like I said I was going to. It wasn’t intentional. I honestly kept forgetting every time I was online. I’m going to make myself do it this week.  I haven’t been logging my runs either. I need to get back to that.

Considering the fact that I didn’t log my food, I ate out more times than I’d planned last week, and I had a couple of treats (some fried fish one night and a kids’ scoop of ice cream on two different nights), I’m very pleased with my one pound loss.

This last week, with the one pound loss, is exactly what I have in mind for a lifestyle that I can maintain – good activity level and mostly good food choices with a couple of reasonable treats thrown in. Here’s shooting for another week like that!

How was your weigh-in?

Do or do not. There is no try.
