Weekly Weigh-In

It’s accountability time, known also as the Weekly Weigh-In.  I am choosing to look at the positive this week:  the scale is moving in the right direction again.  I lost 1 lb. — not enough to get me where I was before last week’s gain, but enough to not be totally depressing.

I could get discouraged, but then I look at where I was, where I am now, and how far I’ve come.  That’s nothing to be discouraged about.  So, I’ll just keep on keeping on and focus on the positive.  Instead of beating myself up, I’m going to congratulate myself for all the good choices I’ve made, such as:

  • Splitting a bagel with Josh at church Sunday morning, rather than eating the whole thing myself
  • Walking the gym the entire hour of Megan’s music class, rather than sitting and reading a book
  • Getting up and exercising last Thursday when I really didn’t want to
  • Choosing the more challenging workout DVD last Wednesday, rather than talking myself into the easy one
  • Having water for lunch instead of tea since I knew I’d want a sweet tea at McDonald’s while the younger kids and I waited for Brianna during her Spanish class, rather than drinking tea both times

See?  There were lots of good choices in there.  My current eating and exercising habits are those that I can see me maintaining for the rest of my life, so I’m not going to stress that the changes in my weight are slowing down.  As long as the scale continues to gown down, I’m going to keep moving forward and focusing on the positive.

How did the scale treat you this week?

  1. You go, girl! Great positive attitude and good choices.

This past week I blew everything. I could make lots of excuses, but it all came down to my choices. Here's to better choices this week!

  2. I have a really hard time telling myself no. I am struggling just to maintain the weight I have. 🙂 I think you have the right attitude. Isn't it harder to lose when you are closer to your goal weight anyway? I am still within a healthy weight range but had found the scale moving up slowly.

  3. I thought I posted the other day but I guess I messed up.

First, your attitude is positively wonderful! Can't wait to see you reach goal!!

Second, I started back with everything last Monday. I lost 1.5 pounds. While that's good news, I was up 20 pounds from low on WW. I'm not going to give up!!
