Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! This week seemed to fly by even though I thought it was Thursday all day on Wednesday. I can’t even put into words how wonderfully my week started off.

There are many Sundays when I find myself sitting in church wanting to take a photo to post to social media with the caption, “There is nowhere on the planet I’d rather be right now.” I know that sounds cliché, and probably a little strange to think about social media in church, but I guess that’s the blogger in me and the sentiment is always completely true.

However, it’s never been truer than this week as I got to worship with two of my babies on the praise and worship team. I was smiling the whole morning, so much so that I had people comment on how happy I looked.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4

I finally went to the doctor on Tuesday for some pain I’ve been having since just after Christmas. He thinks it’s something with a nerve, so I’ll be starting physical therapy soon. In the meantime, he prescribed a muscle relaxer. Oh, y’all. It’s a good thing that I have teens who work independently because it really relaxed me.

I’m supposed to take a pill three times a day. I took the first one Tuesday afternoon and barely got through supper before having to go sleep for 2 hours. I took another one before bed and had a really hard time getting up the next morning. I knew I couldn’t take one during the day, but even though I skipped that one, I had to go take an hour nap right after lunch on Wednesday because I absolutely could not function.

The muscle relaxer did help with what I’ve determined to be the secondary pain, though. It seems to stop most of the pain except for in the original spot. I think the secondary pain was caused by unconsciously tensing up due to the source pain. Anyway, I’m hoping taking one at night before bed will help during the day until I can start physical therapy. It seemed to for most of the day yesterday.

While cleaning the living room for her boyfriend to come over on Tuesday, Megan finally found the missing Teaching Textbooks disc. It was in a pile of DVDs on the DVD player. I’m still not quite sure how it got in there since the kids do math on their laptops. We think it may have somehow hitched a ride with the Chemistry 101 DVDs that he watches on the TV since they quit working, for some inexplicable reason, on his laptop.

Belle (aka Pooky – but I’m the only one who calls her that) is up to 17 lbs. as of last Friday.

In case you missed it, I have a new article up at About.com, The Pros and Cons of Differentiated Instruction for Homeschooled Students. Check it out if you have a minute!

  1. I would have balled my eyes out if my children were up there…we love our church time also! Puppy is getting big and so adorable! Hope you can get the pain under control. No fun!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Great week! I love watching my kids actively involved in worship too…if only I could get the one to get over being too shy to try out for the youth praise team.

    Belle is getting big, fast!
