Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! Have you had a great week? Mine has been pretty good, though I wasn’t sure at the start.

Brian and I went to leave Monday night, headed in two different directions. When I backed out of the garage, my car was making a horrible sound. Lo and behold, there was a puddle of power steering fluid on the floor of the garage.

Thankfully, we have kids with other cars, so I was able to leave mine at home and make my appointment. We debated over taking it to the Ford dealership or a local repair shop that we usually use. When Brian called and found out that the Ford place was going to charge us $128 just to see what was wrong with it, we decided to go to the local shop.

It’s only fun because it was her idea.

It turned out to be a cracked O ring, something the mechanic said is pretty unusual. He called around and no one sells just the O ring. You had to buy the whole housing assembly. So, the mechanic looked around the shop and found an O ring. He replaced it and we paid less for all the work (Brian said it was in a place that was hard to get to) than we would have paid for Ford to decide what was wrong with it.

Wedding planning is moving right along. We’re to the point of scheduling dress alterations and tux fittings now. Plus, I’m coming to terms with the fact that I’m going to have to go shopping for a dress in the very near future. {sigh}

Most of the invitations were mailed on Monday. {sniff} After we pick up stamps, the rest will be mailed.

School has been progressing pretty much without me. I have my annual day-in-the-life post up at Simple Homeschool if you want to check it out.

I don’t think we have anything on the agenda for this weekend, which is fine with me. Y’all know I like those quiet weekends at home.

  1. Happy Friday! Glad the car trouble was solved without the huge expense. One of our cars was hit this morning but its ok to drive. We just have to get the front bumper fixed… crazy… it would have been just a drive-by smash if my husband was not up and curious about the strange sounds coming from out front. So glad the wedding planning is going well. I know that can be stressful!
