Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week and are ready for Christmas. I can’t believe it’s here already. As unprepared as I have been this month, I think I’ve finally pulled it together. I have a few more gifts to wrap today and I’ll be doing some baking tomorrow as I prepare to enjoy an evening with family.

Just a heads-up, this will be the last Weekly Wrap-Up for 2016. We’ll resume on Friday, January 6, 2017. I’m also going to take the rest of the year off of blogging because I’m ready to spend a week or two just chilling out with my family.

I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We’ve had a busy, but fun week. Brian took Megan out Christmas shopping on Monday and Josh on Tuesday. Somehow, over the years, that has become their thing. I’m glad. He handles the mall much better than I do.

Wednesday we hosted a Christmas party for the kids and a few friends. We started this last year because I thought it would be a good opportunity for them to exchange gifts with each other all at once. They had such a good time that Josh and Megan asked if we could start doing it every year. Absolutely!

Josh and Megan have such an amazing group of friends. I couldn’t have handpicked better friends for them and I love that they all get along with each other – it’s not just Josh’s friends or Megan’s friends; they’re all friends. I seriously love every one of these kids.

And, of course, there’s a new puppy in the house. She is such a sweet puppy and very smart. She’s already starting to learn to whine at the door to go out. Sometimes. Hey, it’s a start.

Peanut has finally started adjusting. She’s still not his favorite, but he’s quit drooling and he doesn’t growl at her all the time. Two of the cats – the laidback boys – have gotten more relaxed with her and basically ignore her. The two indoor female cats have quit hiding and will cautiously be in the same room with her.

She has her own paparazzi.

As for me, I have come to thoroughly appreciate my senior dogs. Puppies are cute, but they’re a lot of work!

Now, I’m off to wrap a few more presents. Merry Christmas, y’all!
