Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! This is going to be short and sweet because it’s been one of those insanely busy break weeks that make me wonder how I ever keep my head above water while we’re homeschooling.

I thought I was going to have some time to relax and catch up some online commitments. How silly of me! Or, as my oldest would say, “You’re so cute.”

We had two days with doctor’s appointments. One of those days also included lunch with my girls and a trip to the mall to buy a birthday gift for Megan’s BFF who shares her birthday.

Tuesday was a nose-to-the-grindstone workday for me. Josh had worship team practice that night, too, but thankfully he can drive himself now.

Wednesday was Megan’s birthday. I worked in the morning before our busy afternoon started with this:

She was so excited! She is the first of my kids who has actually gotten her learner’s permit on her birthday. She’s been counting down the days.

Then, I ran an errand for Brianna on the way to take Megan to her photography class. After class, I had to take her to the church for her first-ever youth worship team practice. She’ll be singing. Again, thankfully, Josh could drive them home since he was already there for practice.

We did enjoy a little lull in the day’s activities with a dinner at Cracker Barrel. After Megan and Josh got home, we did this:

On Instagram, I captioned it, “I gave birth to them. I shouldn’t have to be in the passenger seat when they operate a motor vehicle for the first time.” #truth

Brian has taken on driver training up until now, but my little mini-me wants to me to do it. I may have to take up drinking. (She did fine; I’m just the nervous sort.)

Thursday was another doctor’s appointment that took forever. Afterward, we came home and started cleaning for Megan’s party. She invited some friends to go to the indoor trampoline park, then, back to our house for pizza and silly string wars. The silly string war was held outside. If it had been planned for inside, I wouldn’t have bothered cleaning.

Today is grocery day before our government mini-co-op. Then, I’ve got to drive the kids to another birthday party – Megan’s BFF’s. {sigh} I think I’m going to refuse to leave the house tomorrow. These kind of weeks are hard on an introverted homebody. It makes us do things like completely forget to publish our Weekly Wrap-Up posts.
