Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I’m in Greenville, South Carolina this weekend for the Great Homeschool Convention! Is anyone else here? I’m looking forward to shopping, being encouraged by the speakers, and laughing with Bob Smiley.

Someone isn’t too excited about his person leaving.

It’s been a good week here. Monday, I was coerced into taking Megan and her BFF prom dress shopping. As much as I complain about going to the mall, it wasn’t bad. We had fun and Megan found a dress, so win-win.

Those are really the big highlights of my week. As far as school is concerned, the kids are plugging along and doing their own thing. Once again, I am very thankful for Teaching Textbooks. We had a funny moment with math this week.

I was helping Megan. When the next problem came up, I asked my usual question, “What do you do first?”

She replied, “There are too many X’s. I just want to shoot them.”

Without missing a beat, I replied in a calm, normal voice, “Okay, well, you can’t shoot them, so what do you do?”

Maybe it was just us, but it struck us both as very funny.

In case you missed it, I’ve got a couple of posts up at the all-new ThoughtCo.com, About.com’s newest site. I love the look of the site! You should check it out even if you don’t read my posts. (You can click on the ThoughtCo logo to be taken to the main page. I linked to the homeschool section.)
