Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’ve all had a good week. Me? Well, I’m frustrated about things that won’t matter in a year or so. You know, like how our dog, Belle, celebrated her one-year “gotcha day” by destroying our Christmas tree yesterday.

And the second of two of my Hallmark Keepsake ornaments.

The remains of the first Hallmark ornament

Yeah, it’s stuff that won’t matter by this time next year (Well, maybe the tree. I guess we’re going to have to buy another one.), but it’s still frustrating in the moment.

Belle’s Gotcha Day 2016

We had a dog that I loved dearly, Cody. He was Brian’s and my first dog together. We treated him like a child because we didn’t have kids at the time. He chewed up my bridal bouquet.

And a couch. Yes, a couch.

It could be worse.

Like, really, I know it could be a lot worse than a Christmas tree. But still.

In other news, Josh started a new job this week. He’s working basically full-time hours on third shift. Thankfully, we’re on Christmas break now so he’s getting some time to adjust to the schedule without juggling schoolwork.

We made use of the pretty tree at the doctor’s office this week.

Megan is loving her job and hoping she gets to keep it after Christmas since she was hired as seasonal. It’s weird having all of my kids working. And planning a wedding. That’s weird, too.

I think I’ll go drink some more tea and start my weekend.

  1. Life gets weirder and weirder as our kids get older. We think it’s weird when they’re little (and it is) but moving from the times of making sure they don’t lick an electrical outlet to watching those same kids navigate adulthood is beyond weird. 😉

  2. My dog ate a papier mache model my son had made of our cat. Pretty sure she was wishing it was the real cat.

As an encore she ate a book a friend had loaned me titled How to Train Your Dog.

      1. Yeah, I never learned how to train my dog. My only recourse was to flip her over on her back once in a while and straddle her to remind her who the alpha dog in the house was. 🙂
