No, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth. And, no, I don’t have any pictures for this week. We’ve been too busy trying to finish our official school year!!! And, we did it! We’re finished. Woo hoo! We’re all looking forward to a few weeks of resting, relaxing and taking it easy.

This past week was spent wrapping up loose ends. We got to the point I wanted to be in our science book. We didn’t quite get where I wanted to be in Story of the World, so we may read a few chapters over the summer. Josh and Brianna are also going to have to do a little math over the summer to get where I want them to be and, of course, we’ll all be reading.

On Wednesday, Joy, over at Five J’s, hooked me up with a fabulous online math site via Works for Me Wednesday. I *love* it!! One of the games is Mah Jong. Megan loves Mah Jong and, so far, she hasn’t figured out that she’s having to do math to play! Shhh…don’t tell her. The game is set up so that you either match facts to their answer or to another fact with the same answer. So, 4+3 would either match with 7 or 5+2. There are lots of other archade-type games as well. We’ll be spending a lot of time at the site this summer, I hope.

Thursday was our end-of-the-year party with our homeschool group, which, along with our not-back-to-school party, always gets the best attendance of our group events, so it was nice to be able to get together with so many friends at once. We met at a local playground and the weather was fantastic.

Brian’s parents came and got the kids yesterday an took them home for the weekend, so we’ve had an extended date night. Yesterday, we went to our favorite Japanese steakhouse for lunch and to Carrabba’s, my first time to eat there, for dinner. I won a gift certificate to Carrabba’s on the 5 Minutes for Moms Ultimate Blog Party a while back, so we’ve been looking forward to trying it out. It was delicious! We also went to see the new X-Men movie, which was decent, but a little dark. We may even go see another movie today — Star Trek. It’s been so long since we’ve had a date night that we have to make up for lost time. 😉

Based on the comments from last week, I will plan on continuing the Weekly Wrap-Ups through the summer. I’m glad there was enough interest in doing so and I’ll be looking forward to keeping up with everyone this summer.

I hope you all had a wonderful week. Mr. Linky is going through some major issues this week, so if you want to participate in the Wrap-Up, just leave your link in the comments. The same guidelines apply, except, you know, the part where you put your link in Mr. Linky. Hopefully, he’ll be up and running like normal next week.

**Remember, be sure to link directly to your Weekly Wrap-Up post so that others can find it easily when they visit your blog and be sure to post a link back here so that your readers can find the Wrap-Up and join us.

  1. Yay! I’m glad you’re continuing these! It will be nice to keep up with my virtual friends over the summer.

Hurrah for an extended date night! I really like Carrabbas, haven’t been there in a while though…

Thanks for the math site. We’ll be checking that out for summer too. Depending on how much we can cram into next week, we only have a week to a week and a half left 🙂
