It’s been another low-key week at our house, for which I am terribly thankful.  The in-laws came and got the kids last Saturday and kept them until Monday, so Brian and I were able to have some time alone together and get a little Christmas shopping done.  We also went to see The Blind Side, which we both really enjoyed.

The kids had a little bit of schoolwork to do on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday — just the basics — and then we started our Christmas break.  Yesterday was Josh’s 10th birthday.  He was very excited to be 10.  He’s not one who likes to show a lot of excitement, but we got lots of real smiles yesterday — many of them by simply mentioning the fact that he’s now 10.  He’s got a friend over today, so we’re just hanging out and letting everyone enjoy a relaxing day at home.

In my weight-loss efforts, I lost another 3.8 lbs. last week, giving me a total of just two-tenths of a pound shy of 8 lbs. lost.  I’m very excited about that and happy to be wearing a pair of jeans today that I haven’t been able to get into in awhile.

Those, sadly (or happily, if you look at it from the point of view of a homeschooling mom who was totally ready for this break) are the highlights of my week. How was your week? 1. Oh wow. What a wonderfully relaxing week. Prop those feet up, pat yourself on the back for a year well done 🙂 And again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!

  2. One more week to go for us before we take 3 weeks off. Enjoy that relaxation next week for me, I'm ready for break too!
