Happy Friday! I hope you’re all having a wonderful week. It’s been a rather eventful one around here.

The biggest news of our week was that not only was Brianna’s computer fixed, but our incredible and godly computer guy was able to recover all of her photos and documents. It was a total God-thing and a beautiful showering of God’s blessing on Brianna.

Buried in the post about Brianna’s computer was also the mention of our air unit going out Monday evening. We were totally prepared for a miserably hot day on Tuesday, but were blessed with a rainy day and unseasonably cool temperatures instead. With the windows open and the fans on, it was quite comfortable in the house and the unit was fixed Tuesday evening.

We went swimming with some friends on Thursday. The kids, of course, loved that and I enjoyed catching up with my friend since I hadn’t talked to her in awhile. Unfortunately, Megan got a pretty bad sunburn despite several applications of sunscreen. The story of my life with extremely fair-skinned, red-headed, blue-eyed children. I really need to just take out stock in the sunscreen companies.

On a personal note, I hit a big milestone in my weight-loss journey: I’ve now lost 80 pounds! That was pretty exciting and I’m hoping to keep it going. I’d love to be at my goal weight by the end of the summer.

  1. You are such an inspiration for sticking getting fit goals. I am so impressed and inspired.  I have started walking a few times a week, but it is slow going.

I hope your daughter's sunburn feels better- I try and keep my kids covered in swim shirts and hats as much as possible. Not always possible when the kids are swimming though.

  2. What a story!!!!  It is such a blessing that you have wonderful friends in your life.  I wanted to shed tears when I finished reading.  It really shows His awesome power!

  3. Congratulations!  80 lbs!  Woot! Woot!  I am envious as I am only at 30 lbs with 50 more to go.  Booo for me!  Yay for you!

  4. Thirty pounds is a great weight loss! Just keep plugging away. It's too bad
the weight doesn't come off as fast as we can put it on.

  5. I'm so happy to hear that she got her pictures back! I thought I lost mine one time and I know how awful that feels…and how wonderful it is to have them recovered!!!
I was looking back at some of my older posts today and I miss participating in weekly wrap-ups. I'm going to try to start that again soon. I think it will be good for me to focus on all the good things about our weeks! 🙂 (And your weight loss/fitness stuff is so inspiring to me!!!)

P.S. (I changed the name of my blog….)

  6. Oh, I'm glad you mentioned your blog change! Somehow I missed that. I'd
missed a few posts. I've got you back in my reader now, though. I love the
ladybug cookies! We are so going to do those soon. It will be something cute
for our family night dinners at my sister's house and Megan (and maybe
Brianna, but probably not Josh…not his thing) will have fun making them,
so it will serve two purposes.

And, yes, we were so thankful to have Brianna's stuff recovered. I think she
was more worried about her books than her pictures, though she was glad to
get both back. She'd been working on the one book for a year and a half, so
she would have been devastated to lose it.
