Happy Friday! I’m happy because we only have one more week before summer vacation!  I’m also happy because we spent the entire day with our homeschool friends at our annual end-of-the-year party.  In spite of the fact that it was extremely hot and humid, we had a wonderful time.  We went to a great park that had stuff for everybody — a great playground for the younger kids, a huge field for running and playing, room for walking, piers out over the water for the older kids, space for the teenagers to get some privacy, but still be in sight…it was wonderful!

The best part, of course — for moms and kids, alike — was hanging out with friends.  Thankfully, the rain held off and we didn’t get wet, though it was so hot, I think a lot of us wouldn’t have minded a little bit of rain.

The rest of the week has been spent wrapping up loose ends.  Megan only has one page left in her math book and Brianna only has four or five lessons.  We never really worry about finishing up books since we just pick up where we left off when we resume school in the fall.  It just worked out this year that we’re finishing up some books at the end of the year.

Next week we’ve got a used book sale (love those!) and a homeschool P.E. class, along with finishing up math, grammar and history and, then, we’re done!  I’m looking forward to having some free time to enjoy some of my hobbies and to do some planning for next year.

  3. It sounds like a great day at the park! It's funny, it felt like the end of the school year would never come, but now that it's here I wonder where the year went!

  4. Only one week left for you….hooray! I have really enjoyed getting to know your family and reading about your homeschool this year. I hope that I have encouraged you as much with my posts. 🙂
