Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! How’s your week been? I can’t complain. It’s cold outside, but the sun is shining brightly and there is no snow or ice. My husband bought me some beautiful, good-smelling flowers yesterday. My family is all healthy except for one kid with an annoying cough that doesn’t seem to want to go away. There is Chick-fil-A tea in my fridge. All is right with my world. {grin}

First off, before I forget, I’ll be headed to Texas this time next week. I’ll still have the Weekly Wrap-Up posted, though mine may say something along the lines of, “I was too busy packing to write anything. Catch you next week.”

It’s not too late for my homeschooling mama friends to join me in Texas. Register today for the Homeschooling Moms’ Winter Summit. You can take 20% off your registration with coupon code thsc20. Tell ‘em Kris from WUHS sent you. I don’t get a commission or anything. They just want to know how you heard about the Summit.

I wish some of y’all would come hang out with me. This introverted homebody is starting to feel a bit apprehensive about leaving home to hang out with strangers. Come keep me company if you can!

School wise, we’re just plugging right along. {sigh} It’s kind of not fun when you’ve got a mama who likes to do fun, hands-on projects and kids who just want to do workbooks. Megan and I have talked and I just ordered a book for her to possibly try something new. Once we make some decisions, I’ll let you know if we decide to go in a different direction and how things are going.

I need some reading buddies for Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled World, the latest book by one of my favorite bloggers, Kristen Welch, founder of Mercy House Kenya and Fair Trade Friday. It came out this week and is already #84 on the Amazon Best Sellers list!

I’ve started it, but I have some a hard time making time to read and staying on track. Anyone interested in reading it together?

Y’all might want to say a little prayer for me. I think I’m going to have 3 teenaged girls at my house tonight. It’s not unusual to have two, but they seem to get exponentially louder as their numbers increase.

Other than that, I’m excited about a peaceful, low-key week before the craziness of the next two weeks start. How about you?

How was your week? Be sure to post about it and link up. If this is your first time to join us, be sure to read the Weekly Wrap-Up guidelines. You can also follow the guidelines link to grab the banner code.

She has a pretty serious addiction to sweet tea and Words with Friends. Kris and her husband of over 30 years are parents to three amazing homeschool grads. They share their home with three dogs, two cats, a ball python, a bearded dragon, and seven birds.

  1. I’ll see if I can get my hands on the book so we can compare notes. Entitlement is a huge problem these days, IMO!

    Have fun in Texas. One of these days I’ll be able to go to further-away conferences and meet some of the US bloggers I follow. Maybe when I win the lotto.

    P.S. Love the cat toes 🙂
