Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope you’re having an amazing week. It’s been a week of ups and downs here, but today is an excellent day – because, as you’re reading this, I am off for a weekend retreat with a group of wonderful ladies.

Someone else is preparing delicious meals for us and doing all the dishes. There is no laundry. There are no pets to feed. Just three days of relaxing. Ahhhh…

So, Megan was going to go trick-or-treating with my niece last weekend – because it’s hard to age out of free candy – but we completely lost track of time. She was just going to dress as a hobo (read: she was going to drag a bunch of old, mismatched clothes out of her closet), but at 3:00 I started looking online for last-minute costume ideas.

We came up with this nifty skeleton shirt and we happened to have some make-up from a couple of years ago in the cabinet. She and I worked together on it and were really excited about the way it turned out – especially since, due to some computer issues, I wound up not even printing out the template until 5:00. She was out the door at 6:30.

Halloween

We also had some stuff this week. You know – stuff. The kind of stuff that bloggers don’t talk about, giving the impression that we have it all together and our lives are perfect.

Our lives are not perfect. It’s just that some things are not fodder for the Internet.

Suffice it to say that my life is not perfect and this week I’ve been clinging to Kristen Welch’s words – No credit, no blame.

It was a fairly light school week since I was going to be gone most of Thursday and all of Friday. We focused on math, reading, and catch-up on some assignments that got behind last week.

Spoiled cats

In case you missed my articles on About.com this week, apparently I was thinking in threes: 3 Homeschool Mistakes That Can Derail Your Year and 3 Unschooling Concepts Even School-at-Home Families Can Use.

I guess that’s it for me this week. I need to get back to resting and relaxing.

  1. Oh yeah, I know about STUFF. Had some of that last week right before the move. I hope you have a wonderfully rejuvenating weekend away. Hugs, friend!

  2. Yep, stuff….we all face it, and sometimes it’s just rotten. Thankful we have hope and faith to guide us while walking through it.

    Enjoy being spoiled!!
