I know I said this last week, but why do summer weeks go by so quickly? The days just seem to fly by with me getting very little accomplished from my to-do list.

This week has just been a nice, quiet, relaxing week at home. On Monday, we met Brian’s parents for lunch at one of my favorite places. We hadn’t been there in forever. It was quite tasty. It’s a Greek place that has an incredible Greek salad.

The rest of the week pretty much passed in a blur. I didn’t get my birthday Chick-Fil-A. I decided that I didn’t want to fight the lunch crowds and pay $20 (for the kids) to get a “free” meal. So, I just enjoyed a laid-back day at home and fixed myself my favorite pasta bowl for lunch.

I’ve modified the pasta bowl just a bit. I don’t do the artichoke hearts anymore. I put diced avocado on top and I add red pepper when I’m cooking the veggies. Yellow squash is a pretty tasty add-in, too.

Today is Brian’s work’s annual company picnic at a local amusement park. At the time you’re reading this, I’m probably out having blast with my kiddos riding rides and choosing a couple of indulgences (probably a funnel cake or cotton candy). With a forecasted high of only 86 degrees, it shouldn’t be as miserably hot as it usually is.

Say a little prayer for me tonight. Each of my kids is taking a friend with them. Each friend is spending the night. That means there will be six kids in my house tonight. Yikes!

    1. We had a great time. I don’t do the crazy scary stuff anymore. I used to, but these days I stick to the pretty tame stuff. Megan kept asking me who I was going to marry once Dad died while he was on that one ride. LOL She, obviously, was not the daughter who rode it with him. It was the daredevil one — the one who rode the Tower of Terror for the first time at age 5.

  1. Hope your night is going well, I can’t imagine having six kids in my house all night long.

Summer does go by way to fast…

    1. I have to admit, it’s really not too bad. Everybody has their own friend, so they’ve all gone to their own rooms with their friend. It’s relatively quiet and no bickering.
