Weekly Wrap-Up: The One Where We Finished School
Happy Friday! It is a happy, happy Friday indeed. We just finished our 11th homeschool year! Not only that, but we also graduated our first! And, I’ve already knocked some things off my summer to-do list.
There are so many momentous occasions I could highlight this week. For one, we enjoyed our first Kids Bowl Free game Wednesday night. We even bought our own bowling shoes this year, which was nice. It’s a good feeling knowing you’re wearing shoes that no one else’s feet have been in.
I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it, but I’m a terrible bowler. I have fun, though, so it’s all good.
Another momentous occasion occurs on Monday. My newly-graduated daughter turns 19. {sigh} How can it possibly be her last year as a teenager already?
I am so ready for summer break! I already know it’s going to go by way too fast, but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts before starting school in a few weeks with a 7th grader and a brand-new high school student! At least this go around, I feel much more like I know what I’m doing.
I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to interrupt my own blog post. It was Thursday afternoon when I was writing this post. I just learned that my neighbors’ 24-year-old son has died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Tuesday night. It just doesn’t feel right to go on about the frivolous things that I’m happy about when this family is suffering a parent’s worst nightmare.
I’m going to go hug my babies and pray for my neighbors. Would you take a moment to do the same?

Praying through tears. You’re right, it is absolutely a parent’s worst night mare.
So, so, sorry to hear about your neighbor’s son. I saw an update yesterday on fb but hoped the outcome was better than feared.
Oh my heart breaks for them! My prayers are coming their way.
Prayers.
I’m so sorry tp jear pf the loss of that young man. My prayers are with his family.
So sorry to hear about your neighbors – what a tragic loss.
Oh Chris, how absolutely devastating. I’m praying for those poor parents too.
So terribly sad to hear of your neighbors son. Praying for you all.
Saying a prayer for your neighbor as well as you. Thank you for sharing. HUGGS
