Happy Friday, y’all! Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? Is anyone less prepared than I am? I seriously don’t think I’ve ever been less prepared for Christmas.

I didn’t buy the first gift until this week. I still have a few more to buy but I have no ideas. Christmas should not be this stressful.

Weekly Wrap-Up

For the first time in all our years of marriage, Brian and I aren’t exchanging gifts. We decided the remodel and the projects that we’ll be doing ourselves is gift enough. Neither of us could think of anything we need or even want other than new interior doors. {grin} Sad, but true.

And the remodeling? {sigh} Nothing has happened since last Thursday. I hope things start moving quickly after the first of the year.

If you love All About Spelling and All About Reading, don’t miss the huge giveaway they’re doing to celebrate the launch of the new, full-color All About Reading books.

So, for some big news. After trying the new format for a while, I’m ready to retire the Weekly Wrap-Up. With Brianna and Josh graduated and Megan plugging away on her own, I never really feel like I have anything to say. I’d rather put my creative energy into bringing you another post during the week…or working on that book that never seems to move from “someday.”

Participation has been low for quite some time and I feel like a broken record most weeks. This is usually the time of year that we take off until after the first of the year. I just don’t think I’m going to pick it back up in January.

Last year, there wasn’t much interest from anyone else in hosting, but I’ll put the offer out there again. If you’d like to host the Weekly Wrap-Up on your site, let me know.

If you’d like to keep seeing pictures of my creatures or of the remodel (hopefully there will be some “after” stuff to take photos of soon), follow me on Instagram. You can also check out the Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers Facebook page or the Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers Community.

I may try moving it to the WUHS Community page, so that’s your best bet for following something like the Weekly Wrap-Up specifically.

Thank you all for sharing your week and listening to me ramble about mine all these years! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, y’all!

How was your week? Post about it on your site and link up. If this is your first time to join us, read the Weekly Wrap-Up guidelines first. You can also grab the banner code while you’re there if you want it.

Remember: link directly to your Weekly Wrap-Up post so that others can find it easily when they visit your blog. And, post a link back here so that your readers can find the Wrap-Up and join in the fun.

Thank you for all your posts. I’ve been following along on Feedly ever since I started thinking about homeschooling. I can’t imagine having my kids grown up. The days but the years!

I’ve enjoyed reading your weekly wrap-up over the years, Kris, and I will miss it. But I totally get it! Different seasons of life call for different things. Enjoy your next season of life!

I enjoy your weekly wrap up but understand why you are stopping it. Life is full of changes and if it is not working or bringing you joy then you should definitely let it go. Hope your remodel doesn’t drive you too crazy. They never go as planned! Have a very Merry Christmas and may the new year bring you much happiness and a finished house remodel!!

Thank you, Pam! That’s probably the best wish I’ve gotten for the new year. 🙂 I hope we can make it through this remodel with our sanity intact. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My kids are both juniors, now, and they have been on their own too. I understand your decision, but I must say how very much you have helped me in my seven-year, about to be eight, journey in homeschooling!! You will be missed. There were so many times I read your posts that helped me through the times of struggling, and the decision to continue. I thank you for your wisdom and my big question now is after our homeschooling journey ends, what do we do then? One more year and that will be it. Of course we never stop being mommas, so now we help them find their way to their future! GOD BLESS YOU, KRIS! You have helped many! May your holidays be filled with happiness and may your new year be the best, yet!

I’ll still be around with regular posts and on social media. And, who knows? I may have to just throw out a Weekly Wrap-Up here and there if something fun happens. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

The best ways to stay connected will probably be Instagram or the Facebook group. Merry Christmas!

I’ll miss your Weekly Wrap Up, but I totally get it too. I haven’t graduated either of mine yet, but I often feel like a broken record too…

Can’t wait to see what other items you put your creativity into.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Wishing you well on all your future endeavors! I totally get the why, personally my blogging life has been pretty sad for some time. 🙂 Still looking forward to keeping up with you on Instagram and your other post.

I’ve enjoyed taking part in the Weekly wrap-up links over the years. I host my own weekly wrap-up called Homeschool Highlights, but my youngest student graduates in May, so my own posts are less nitty gritty homeschooling and I won’t be continuing past the spring anyway. These are hard transitions and I totally understand.

I’m so sad! I’ve followed you for years….I have three kids about the same ages as yours. But alas, mine have also almost all flown the nest and it’s time for me, too, to move on to different endeavors. I’ve really enjoyed your blog over the years. You’ve given me knowledge, inspiration, lots of curriculum ideas, support, and lots of smiles. Thank you! Good luck with future book and the remodel. And I HAVE to see how the remodel goes so I’ll definitely follow you on Instagram.

I’m behind the game! I took a short break around the time this post went up and just now saw it! I’m going to miss your weekly Wrap-ups! I’ve been following you for years, yours was one of the first I participated in back when we were still fairly new at homeschooling. But, like many others who have commented, I understand. I considered stopping for the same reason, I’m down to my youngest and she is a Junior this year. However, I feel God calling me to keep plugging away! I would consider taking on the weekly link-up so those who are still linking up can continue to have a spot to share. You can contact me if you think you’d like to see that happen 🙂
