Happy Friday, friends! I’m really happy this Friday because we just finished our first six weeks! That means we’re on break next week and I’m ready for one.

This week has seemed really busy, but I think it was more the “cluttered” kind of busy, than the productive kind.

Monday, Brian and the kids went to lunch with his parents, while I stayed home and enjoyed the silence, along with an ice-cold glass of sweet tea and a grilled salmon salad.

I also ordered a Valentine gift for Brian – a gift that said it would ship that day and had an estimated delivery date of February 14. Then, they didn’t ship it until the following day. Grrr! (It came today and he really liked it. I got brave and ordered a car part – and got the right one!)

Later, after everyone got home, Brian lay down on the bed to watch TV. Lily, the calico, as you can see from the photo above, was very happy to have her favorite person all to herself. Yep, she’s decided that Brian is her person.

I also managed to snap the first photo of all four creature lying on the dog bed together. Aren’t they cute?

Brianna had invited her boyfriend over for dinner Monday night, so I got to sit back and relax while she fixed dinner. It was quite enjoyable.

Tuesday we enjoyed our second CurrClick Live class. Even Luna got in on the action. And, Lily? Well, let’s just say it’s a good thing for the birds that she’s an inside cat.

Wednesday was such a blur, I didn’t even get an pictures. I had a wonderful lunch with a  friend, though. I love that the kids are old enough that I can do that now, from time to time.

Thursday, I left cards and candy on the table for the kids before treating myself to a Valentine’s Day run. Okay, it really didn’t feel like a treat while I was doing it, but I am so thankful to be healthy enough to run now. I got in my 12-mile long run and now I don’t have to do another long run until the half-marathon next week.

Brianna’s boyfriend picked her up for a late Valentine’s Day lunch. He brought roses (bottom right). So sweet.

Then, my sweetheart brought me roses when he came home. It’s very unusual for him to bring me roses. He said he searched all over for sunflowers – my favorite – but couldn’t find them. That’s okay because the roses were beautiful.

Today, I enjoyed breakfast with my mom. Then, since the kids were still asleep when I got home and the house was quiet, I filmed the first four videos in a 10-part series…and spent the rest of the day editing them (the fun part!).

The videos are based on my Homeschooling 101 series and e-book (which, by the way, is now available at a special bundled price with my Hands-On Homeschooling book).

I plan on adding a new video each Friday for the next 10 weeks. You can view the first one below.

Oh, and before I forget…if everything goes according to plan, there should be some pretty exciting (to me) cosmetic changes going on here overnight tonight, so don’t think you’re in the wrong place if you come back over the weekend and everything looks different.

  1. Great video Kris! I’m looking forward to the others. It was nice to ‘see’ you as well. Blogging is a funny thing. You don’t know me from Adam, but I feel like I ‘know’ you (having read your blog for years) yet I’ve never seen you or heard your voice! What a weird world we live in!!
Very cute picture of all your pets curled up together. Ours get on well together but our cats would NEVER snuggle with our dog!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

    1. I know exactly what you mean, Claire. I feel that way about a lot of people on the Internet. It is a strange world in which we live.
