2018 Great Homeschool Convention Dates and Locations

Wondering where you can attend a GHC event next year? There will be FIVE locations in 2018!

Great Homeschool Conventions Encourages and Equips

Families choose to homeschool for a multitude of reasons. Is your special needs child is falling through the cracks? Maybe your gifted learner needs more challenge. Perhaps you’re not okay with the controversial views your child is facing in public school.

Homeschooling allows you to let your kids be kids and focus on their specific needs.

With a jam-packed to-do list and constant worry about the job you’re doing as parent and teacher, homeschooling is often stressful. Add the fact that you’ve shouldered the full responsibility of your kids’ education, and it can feel downright overwhelming.

Great Homeschool Conventions can help! How?

Amazing Speakers

Each Great Homeschool Conventions location features a fantastic speaker line-up. Many speakers share from their years of personal homeschooling experience. They attend the conventions because they are passionate about helping both new and seasoned homeschooling parents succeed.

They believe in homeschooling and have committed to keeping the movement strong. GHC chooses only the best speakers to inspire you with their positive messages.

You’ll hear speakers such as Dr. Kathy Koch, Andrew Pudewa, Attorney Judy Sarden, Sarah Mackenzie, and dozens more!

Hundreds of Workshops

You’ll find an incredible list of workshops at each GHC location. There are dozens of speakers covering more than 230 speaking sessions at each event! The variety of topics covered is incredible, from how to homeschool different ages at the same time to how to homeschool a gifted or special needs child.

Don’t know how to teach math and get concepts across to your teen? GHC has you covered – by math experts!

How do I prompt my child to write? Covered.

Not sure how to help your struggling reader? Covered – with proven techniques.

Intimidated by science? Covered by experts who address teaching children science in ways that will capture their attention and hold their interest.

Special Sessions for Homeschool Trouble Spots

At each GHC event, you’ll have access to specifically-focused tracks led by experts in their fields who will address homeschooling trouble spots.

Homeschooling isn’t easy. Parenting can be harder. Behavioral issues, strong-willed children, and disrespect can make you feel like giving up. You’ll find encouragement and parenting tips when you attend the Parenting Track.

The Special Needs/Gifted Track addresses topics such as how to effectively teach a child with ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s, or dyslexia. It’s designed to uplift parents and provide you with a new appreciation for your child’s challenge.

New to homeschooling or curious about homeschooling? The Homeschooling 101 Track will show you how to get started and how to choose curriculum. You’ll even get transcript prep tips if you’re homeschooling a high school student.

Don’t know which style of homeschooling is right for you? Explore Classical education in the Classical Track. In addition to several classical sessions, you can attend a panel session by top Classical educators who have dedicated time to answering questions on what Classical education is all about.

Shopping GHC’s massive exhibit hall lets you see all the fantastic curriculum options in person and find the curriculum that best fits your children’s learning styles. You can meet many of the authors of popular curricula and ask them questions to find out how their products will work for your family.

You can hear compelling speakers tell their incredible stories when you attend a GHC special event! You’ll have a chance to hear people like Gianna Jessen, Matt Walsh, or Nick Vujicic.

You can attend a family-friendly concert by Randall Goodgame of Slugs and Bugs or check out the kids’ event hosted by Giant Cow Ministries!
