Weekly Weigh-In

Happy Monday!  It’s time to weigh-in with your weight-loss results and on any weight-loss, health or fitness topic that may be on your mind today.  How did you do this week?

I weighed in on Friday and I was shocked!  It was with the most discouragement that I think I’ve felt my entire weight-loss journey that I went to step on the scale Friday morning.  See, I’d broken my own rule about once-twice-at-the-most-a-week weighing.  I’d weighed nearly every day and I did not like what the scale was showing me.

Imagine my surprise when the scale showed a 2 pound weight loss!  Now, granted, I didn’t have my shoes on and I usually do, but I know they don’t weigh more than half a pound, at most, so I was very pleasantly surprised at my results.  Did I deserve them?  I think so.  I was pretty mindful about what I ate last week and I worked out every day, with a spin class at the Y thrown in for good measure.

Could it have been a fluke anyway?  Maybe.  So, my job this week is to keep off that two pounds and see if I can get rid of another pound or two to go with it.  I’m only about 4 pounds away from officially not being obese anymore!!  After 16+ years of being obese, if that’s not incentive, I don’t know what is!

As far as my weigh-in about health and fitness, I thought I’d share a couple of promising looking websites that I have discovered, but haven’t had time to fully explore yet:

Heart-Healthy Living

Health Castle (Nutrition advice by registered dietitians)

High Fiber Diet Menus

So, what about you?  How did you do this last week?

  1. Hey Kris! Just checking in with you via comments this week – I've not started my weight loss blog yet. This week was a rough one. DH's grandfather had two strokes, my DD was diagnosed with amblyopia (lazy eye) and will have to wear an eye-patch temporarily to strengthen her eye…there were SO many little stressful things that occurred this week, but….I'm happy to say that I worked out 6 days and have lost 5 pounds. I journaled my food & exercise on The Daily Plate every day (which is a huge help for me). I'm excited about my progress and will keep you posted! Congrats on getting a step closer to your goal as well! Have an awesome week!

  2. Hi Kris.

First, way to go, 63 lost pounds is amazing! Thank you for being willing to share what you're learning.

Second, baby was 6 weeks old yesterday so I'm count me in. Thanks for the resources.

  3. I can't step on the scale that often or I drive myself CRAZY!!! Once a week is the most I'll step onto the scale. I'm excited about the link on fiber that you posted. I'm going to check it out!
