Sorry the Wrap-Up is so late this week. I had to do some Black Friday shopping today. 😉 I didn’t snag any fantastic deals and the one thing I really wanted to get was gone by the time I got there. I’ll live, though. It was something for Josh that I wasn’t going to buy until I saw what a great deal they had on it, not something he was counting on.

I had fun, though. My mom, my sister and I all got to go this year. It’s our “girl bonding time,” even if we don’t get any great deals. My mom and my grandmother used to go every year. When Nannie passed away, I started going with my mom and it’s been our yearly thing ever since. We have breakfast, do some shopping, laugh, talk, and generally just have a great time together.

As for the rest of the week, it was pretty slow since we’ve been off school. The kids have done corrections in their workbooks and a page of math, but that’s about it. I did all my baking on Wednesday. Then, Thursday, we went to Brian’s family’s for lunch and mine for dinner.

The highlight of my week, though, was probably this evening. You know how, when you love someone, it is as much a thrill for you as it is for them when something happens that they’ve dreamed of for years?

Last week Brian took his truck to have it checked out because he’d been having some problems with it. It turns out that it needed more work than we were willing to put into a truck that has nearly 200,000 miles on it. So, we began looking around for a good used car, trying to decided if we should go that route or try to fix his truck and hope it would run a few more years.

Brian’s been daydreaming about new (to him) cars for awhile, with a certain something in mind…a certain something that I didn’t think we could afford. Well, tonight we went to look and found a deal that we couldn’t pass up. We were actually able to find, within, our price range, the car my husband has dreamed about since he was old enough to drive…

…a black Mustang convertible!

I’ve only seen this Cheshire cat grin on him a few times — like when we got married or when our kids were born! I have a sneaking suspicion that I may wake up in the morning and find that he’s slept in it. I can’t seem to keep him out of the garage tonight! LOL

I’ll have to post an update picture tomorrow when it’s actually light enough to see the car — if it quits raining long enough. However, I thought the picture above was appropriate since he’s been in the garage most of the evening. He’s been like a kid in a candy store and I couldn’t be happier for him. He works all the time — and hard — so that I can be at home with the kids and he rarely does anything for himself. He deserves this, his dream car.
