Weekly Wrap-Up

Happy Friday, y’all! I have had an excellent week and I hope you have, too. Josh and Megan have been at church camp all week and I have missed them terribly. I have totally been Facebook stalking some of the adults who went with them. Several of them have been posting photos and when you’re missing your kids, seeing the back of their heads or catching a glimpse of them in the background is exciting stuff. It gives me just a little picture of how their week is going and lets me see what a great time they’re having.

A blurry pic of my girl headed off to the camp she’s been looking forward to for the last year.

While I have missed the kids, I’ve enjoyed my date week with Brian, too. He took off and we’ve had the best kind of week – one with no agenda and no meals cooked at home. It doesn’t get much better than that. Brianna has been here and we’ve enjoyed a good mix of one-on-one time with her and time alone since she’s worked a bit and spent the night with a friend.

I even got an unexpected day at home alone on Tuesday. Y’all know how I love those. Brian had some plans with his parents and Brianna was at a friend’s house. I thought I was going to have Baby B, but my mom was in town and offered to keep her. Um, a day at home all alone? Yeah, I’ll take you up on that!

My babies come home this afternoon, though, and I can’t wait to see them! Josh gets a little bit of rest, then, he’s got a big day tomorrow. His music  school is playing at a huge festival that’s held locally every year. I haven’t been since my dad’s band played there before Brianna was born. It’s really not my kind of thing – too hot, too crowded, and too much alcohol. However, it should be a blast for the kids to get to play before such a large crowd, so I’m excited for them.

Sometimes, when I’m out shopping and I see things that make me think of someone, I’ll text them a photo of it. I sent this one to my sister.

I’ve gone running a couple of times a week. Yesterday was particularly exciting for me. It’s the fastest I’ve run with the fewest walk breaks since I got my behind back in gear. Not only that, but it was the best I’ve felt running since I started back.

Oh, and another bit of excitement this week – perhaps you’ve noticed my blog’s new look? I absolutely love it! It feels cleaner and more professional, but still welcoming. I’m also trying to streamline things to make navigation easier. Some features you may like:

  • There is now a contact page, with a link in the header. The email icon is now a link for subscribing by email.
  • If you scroll down, you’ll see that the current post is entirely visible on the home page, but the next four posts have a thumbnail with snippets, which should make it easier to scroll through if you’ve missed a couple of posts.
  • There are social media share buttons at the bottom of each post, so you can easily pin, share or tweet.

And, of course, there is are new Weekly Wrap-Up buttons. You can find them on the guidelines page.

And, now, I think I’ll go enjoy my last few hours of alone time with my husband before Josh and Megan get home from camp and Brianna gets home at work. Enjoy your weekend!

  1. I’m so dippy! When I came for a couple of days a go, I sat there for ages convinced something was different but not having a clue what it was! It looks great and very professional. I love the grey.
I’m a bit jealous of you having a whole week with your hubby. Gary and I struggle to find an hour at the moment. A whole day would be amazing, a whole week like Heaven!

  2. Your week sounds gorgeous. My husband took the week off last year when my kids were just at a day camp. We had beautiful walks on the beach and just lovely time hanging out together. LOL about glimpses of the kids on FB – totally know that feeling too.
Have a great weekend all together and thanks for hosting.
    The new look is fab!

    1. I see what’s wrong with the code and I’ve tried to fix it, but it’s not saving my changes. I’ve emailed my designer, asking her to fix it. I’ll let you know when it’s fixed. Thanks for letting me know! I went in to check the codes last week, then, got distracted and forgot to do it.

    2. The Weekly Wrap-Up buttons are fixed now. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention that they weren’t working.
