No, I did not fall off the face of the earth. We’ve been on Spring Break and, while I thought I’d have tons of extra time, we were busy, busy, busy!  We had some fun, though.  It was a gorgeous week — sunny and warm every day.  We couldn’t have asked for a better week.  The highlight was Friday when my husband finally got my bike, given to me by a friend cleaning out her garage last year, fixed and we went for a family bike ride.  I can’t tell you how good it feels to be healthier and more active!  I should have done this years ago.

Can you believe we’re at the end of the Do or Do Not Challenge series?  I can’t believe sixteen weeks has gone by that quickly.  Did you complete all of the challenges?  What changes have you seen in your body?  In your fitness level?  I have lost 25 pounds since we began sixteen weeks ago (not counting today’s weigh in) and I feel great!  Are you ready for this week’s challenges?

1.  Get outside!  This past week, I had the opportunity to walk outside, rather than on the treadmill in the mornings because my husband was home.  I couldn’t believe the difference in calorie burn!  I know the difference was due to the crazy number of mountains hills in my subdivision, but wow!  And, when we rode bikes, I burned as many calories as I do on the spin bike (based on observing my bodybugg digital display…I haven’t uploaded data yet) without feeling like I’d exerted as much effort (well, I don’t know…there were those two hills) — and it felt great to be out in the fresh air and sunshine!

Don’t take my word for it, though.  If spring has sprung in your neck of the woods, take advantage of it!

2.  Don’t quit!  Just because the challenge is over, doesn’t mean our weight loss journey is.  As I’ve said before, the only reason I’ve tried and failed to lose remove weight before it because I quit.  As Jillian (The Biggest Loser) says, if you keep doing all the right things, your body has to respond.  Sometimes it doesn’t happen as quickly as we’d like, but if we keep working at it, it will happen.

So although the blog challenge is over, your personal challenge goes on:  Do or do not.  There is no try!
