Weekly Weigh-In

Happy Wednesday! It’s time to weigh-in – on your scale results or your weight-loss and fitness related thoughts. You can leave your weigh-in results as a comment or post about it on your blog and leave the link in the comments.

I was a little nervous about my weigh-in this week. We had three different Easter dinners with three different families on three consecutive days. That means that I had less control over my meals than normal and that I was more sedentary than normal.

I tried to eat in moderation and I did go for a 4-mile run Sunday evening after all of the Easter celebrations were over and the weather had cooled off for a bit. Apparently that helped because I stayed the same – exactly to the tenth of a pound.

It wasn’t the loss I was hoping for, but, all things considered, I was happy with the result, especially since my two pound loss last week was a little unexpected. Here’s to a more productive week this week!

The most exciting thing happened to me this week! I went to the doctor for my yearly exam – not, that was not the exciting part. Every single time I’ve ever tried to lose weight, I’ve always daydreamed about hearing the doctor comment on my weight-loss. Last year I’d lost 45 pounds and she didn’t comment. I don’t think I was even thinking about it this year.

She commented! She didn’t at first, but later she poked her head back in the door and said that my “significantly smaller number” on the scale had been noticed. That made my day!

So, what about you? What were your results this week?

  1. Your blog has been an encouragement. I partnered up with a friend this week who has become my trainer and accountability partner. This is my third day on the treadmill (I hate that stupid thing LOL) and I'm just happy with that success. Looking forward to the weekly weigh in next week . . .

  2. I have a question for you – do you have any suggestions for dealing with blisters? (Maybe you never had the problem when you first started) I could not walk this morning because the broken blisters on my pinky toes are so sore that it wasn't possible. I read your post about getting good shoes and they are on my list but, as with many people, money is very tight so the shoes aren't top on the list. Just thought I would ask!

  3. My weigh-ins over the last month have been awful!! I got together with a group of my friends to set up a challenge in order to really help motivate each other… but so far everyone else has lost a little or a lot… and I've put ON 3 lbs!!

I am determined however and am really starting my exercises and healthy eating so we'll see how it goes!

  4. Congratulations on your weight loss! I find it funny how doctors always want to tell people their overweight, but when we lose our weight they don't say anything! Well, at least yours did!! 🙂

  5. Sorry, Jackie, but better shoes is exactly what I was going to say. That would be my first investment. They don't have to be $100 shoes, but I'd definitely try to get someone to look at my stride and professionally fit me. I was wearing a full to half-size too small.
