Welcome to the Weekly Weigh-In! If you’re new around here or have just been lurking awhile, please know this isn’t just my chance to update my weight-loss; it’s also your opportunity to update yours. I’d love to celebrate or commiserate with you, whichever the case may be. Let’s encourage each other!
This week, it’s going to be commiserating for me. I am so frustrated! I gained 0.4 pound this week.
I ran in a 5K last Thursday. In total, I ran over 11 miles last week. I took a 20 mile bike ride on Saturday. I exceeded my calorie burn five out of seven days last week.
I didn’t log my calories consumed, but I ate the same kind of stuff I always eat, so I know the approximate calorie burn. I know that I probably exceeded my calorie budget a couple of days, but not by more than my calories burned.
I fully expected to lose at least a pound this week, but I gained.
This is the kind of thing that would have caused me to throw my hands up in frustration and quit a couple of years ago. Not now, though. As frustrating as it is, I’m going to keep moving forward.
As Jillian (The Biggest Loser) says, “Keep doing the right things and your body has to respond.”
I’m going to keep doing the right things. Because it feels good to be strong. It feels good to be fit and healthy. And because I know, if I just keep putting one foot in front of the other, my body has got to respond and I’ll reach the goals I’ve set for myself.
Do or do not. There is no try!
What about you? Good, bad or ugly on the scale this week?
