Weekly Weigh-In

It’s Weekly Weigh-In time!  How did you do this week?  Did the scale reflect all your hard work? I am thrilled!  I hit the official 30 lb. mark this week!  I lost 1.8 lbs., which puts me just over 31 lbs. lost in 14 weeks.

I’d do the happy dance or jump for joy, but my quads are so sore from the spin bike class I did this weekend.  Talk about burning some calories, though.  Wow!  It’s been a long time since an exercise has made me drip sweat.  It’s gross, but I love it because dripping sweat makes me feel like I’m really burning some calories.

Even though I was really sore – and partly because I was so sore – I went back for more today.  I had to try to work the soreness out.  I’m surprised to admit that I may become a huge fan of the spin bike.  It didn’t hurt that everyone in the class was really friendly.  There was sort of a camaraderie there that I haven’t found in many other exercise classes.  So, there you go, Susan – you were right.  I think I’m really going to enjoy the spin bike.

And, I wasn’t going to do this yet, but I had on make-up today and someone was handy to take my picture.  So, even though I haven’t had any unsolicited comments about my weight loss yet, I thought I’d post an updated photo.

Here’s the before, taken sometime last summer (I didn’t purposely take any before pictures because I’ve tried and failed to lose weight so many times.  I didn’t know I was going to become so determined this time.  I can locate plenty of before pictures, if I need them, from our trip to Disney this summer.):

Before

Here’s the one from yesterday, at 14 weeks and 31.2 lbs. lost:

31 pounds lost

I can tell a big difference in my neck and my cheeks.  I can also tell a big difference in my butt, but I’m not taking a picture of that.  😉  I can’t wait ’til it’s 50 lbs. gone!

  6. Wonderful! Great job!

I am a total of 10 lb lost as of this week (first weigh-in was January 28). While it isn't a lot for this week, I'm thrilled. It's HARD to keep on target when traveling.

  7. Kris! You look wonderful! I am so proud of you. I am chipping away at my weight too- you inspire me every week! I have less than 5 lbs to go to get to my first goal weight- then another 10 after that I think. Thanks for sharing your journey with us here.

  8. YOU LOOK GREAT!!! I just got back on this bandwagon seriously, and have lost 10.9# since Jan. 1st. I will post my link to your Linky from now on… I totally forgot you were doing this!

  9. Great job Kris! I can tell for sure by those two photos… your face, neck and you'll probably think I'm crazy.. but your shoulders. maybe cause I know you IRL. I noticed your new pic right off. Way to go!

  11. I stumbled across this blog when I clicked on the link for the weekly wrap up which led me to your other site. I was intrigued by the Twilight theme as I am completely obsessed right now. Actually in the middle of reading Eclipse again. I just wanted to say congratulations on your weight loss so far. It's amazing. I have lost weight before, always to gain it back. I can't lose any right now (baby due April 3rd, of course I'll lose a little then) but I hope to get in shape after that. I am following both your blogs now.

  12. i stumbled over your blog awhile back, i don't even know how (probably through your homeschooling blog, maybe?) what an inspiration! i am on the healthy living quest as well and you're blog keeps me going sometimes!
    you look GREAT!!!
